- Keep your hands away from the spout when
the water is coming to the boil and avoid all
contact with the hot parts of the appliance.
- Never use the kettle without it’s lid.
- The powered base must only be used with
the cordless Aqualia kettles.
- Do not expose the appliance to the elements
(rain, sun ...)
- Beware: if the kettle is overfilled, boiling
water can spill out.
- Tilt the kettle and slowly pour the hot water
to avoid any risk of burns.
Important : before removing the kettle from its
base make sure that the kettle has switched
itself off automatically or press the On/Off
switch button.
Before using your appliance
for the first time
- Rinse and boil the kettle, repeat this
procedure once or twice.
Note: Opening the lid may be difficult on first
using the kettle. After a few boiling cycles,
using the lid will be easier.
How to use
- Place your kettle or the base on a flat sur-
face.
. Aqualia models
- Unplug the kettle, fill it through the spout or
with the lid pulled up making sure the water
is between the Maximum and Minimum water
levels indicated (E)
- Check that the lid is correctly positioned
- Plug in the kettle or place it on the powered
base and plug it in (depending on model)
- Switch it on by positioning the On/Off switch
(A) to «I»
. Aqualia Aquafilter models
These models are fitted with a water cassette
Aquafilter, which prevents the presence of
white calcium particles in the water.
. The filter must only be used with drinking
water
. It is only suitable for Aqualia Aquafilter kettles.
. The absence of the filter or the cassette will
not impair the proper functioning of the kettle.
. The filter, of vegetable origin, may be thrown
away with household waste.
. If you have not used your kettle for a prolonged
period (holidays...) we would advise you to
rinse the filter under running water and to
clean the kettle before using it again.
. Do not leave the filter in place more than six
months.
Installing the Aquafilter filter
- Lift the lid by pressing the Aquafilter button
(automatic opening).
- Remove the filter from the bag and rub (mas-
sage) it under hot water for 20 seconds.
- Place the filter in the cassette (H) and put
them both in the specially designed holder
within the lid.
Using the kettle
- Fill the kettle by pouring water through the
Aquafilter filter and taking care to fill it to
between the maximum and minimum
levels (E)
Note: To take into account the water retained
in the filter, fill the kettle below the desired
level.
- Close the lid
- Plug in the kettle or place it on it’s base and
plug it in (cordless models).
- Switch it on by placing the On/Off switch (A)
on «I».
Changing the Aquafilter filter (Ref. BY9)
The Aquafilter filter will give you clean water.
Each Aquafilter can filter 250 litres of water.
The filter will be effective for a greater or lesser
amount of time depending upon how regularly
you use your kettle. For example :
. For :
- 3 l of water a day, average filter life : 3 months
- 1,5 l of water a day, average filter life : 5
months
- 1 l of water a day, average filter life : 6 months
Filters can be purchased from your usual
retailer under reference BY9.
. Important (for all models in the Aqualia
range)
- The appliance switches off automatically and
the switch goes to position «0» as soon as
the water comes to the boil. The kettle can
also be stopped at any stage in the heating
cycle by pressing the On/Off switch (A) to
position «0».
- Do not forget to replace the lid in the correct
position to avoid overflowing, escapes of
steam or malfunctioning of the automatic
stop once the kettle has reached boiling
point.
Maintenance
Descaling
- For the water to reach boiling point, you must
descale regularly your kettle.
