ENG  INSTRUCTIONS FOR INSTALLATION AND USE
Congratulations on your new Morsø Jiko
Morsø Jiko is a small, wood-red African inspired outdoor stove that is serviceable as a re pit, but
also excellent for cooking in the open. Morsø Jiko makes it possible to bring the well-known Morsø
qualities from the terrace into nature to cook authentic food on an open re. You should, for in-
stance, try to use the Jiko together with a casserole from Morsø’s kitchenware line, Morsø NAC. You
could also try placing a Morsø Cast-iron grid at the top of the Jiko. Again, deep classic roots and the
unique properties of cast iron combine into a modern design with an abundance of use potentials.
The clean lines and simple, functional design of the Morsø Jiko are typical of Morsø’s products.
Morsø Jiko is made of solid double coated cast iron, ensuring durability for many seasons if it is used
and cared for correctly.
Behind every Morsø Jiko lie more than 160 years’ experience of cast iron and thorough quality con-
trol by our employees throughout the production process.
SAFETY INFORMATION
Never leave Morsø Jiko before all ames and embers are extinguished.
Using water to extinguish the re can result in the cast iron components cracking or warping.
Morsø Jiko becomes very hot when lit. Therefore, be sure to take the necessary care, espe-
cially if children and pets are close to Morsø Jiko.
Do not use combustible uids to light or maintain the re.
Be aware of very high temperatures when Morsø Jiko is in use. Use appropriate gloves.
Be aware of sparks and ame.
Only use kitchen tools that can withstand high temperatures. Pots, pans and the like must be
made of cast iron, aluminium or mild steel. Teon and silicone are not suitable.
Positioning the Morsø Jiko
Morsø Jiko must be placed no less than 1m from ammable surfaces and materials to the sides.
Morsø Jiko should only be used outdoors and must not be placed below eaves or low hanging
branches.
Morsø Jiko must be placed on a at, non-ammable, heat resistant horizontal surface.
Removing ash and embers
Use a metal shovel to remove ash or embers.
Use a metal bucket with a tight-tting metal lid to store ash and embers. Always place the
bucket on a non-ammable surface, well clear of ammable materials.
When the ashes are cold, they can be disposed of with ordinary refuse.
