Das Bild ist flach und die Tonwertverteilung im
Histogramm spiegelt das kontrastarme Motiv
wider. Das Fehlen von kräftigen dunklen Tönen
spiegelt sich in den fehlenden Tonwerten auf der
linken Seite des Histogramms wider. Die meisten
Details sind innerhalb eines engen Bereichs in
den Mitteltönen vorhanden.
Durch Verschieben des Schatten-
Eingabereglers nach rechts, so
dass der Schwarzpunkt an den
Beginn der Tonwertverteilung
gesetzt wird, kann der Kontrast
verbessert werden.
Der Gamma-Eingaberegler kann dazu verwendet werden, die relative Verteilung der Tonwerte
des Bildes zu beeinflussen. Durch Verschieben nach links in Richtung der Schatten wird das Bild
heller, durch Verschieben nach rechts wird das Bild dunkler. Anders aber als bei der
Helligkeitskorrektur mit der Palette „Helligkeit, Kontrast und Farbbalance“ (S. 40) gehen hierbei
keine Details in den Schatten oder den Lichtern des Bildes verloren.
