Wat is een LW? Wat is een stop?

LW staat voor lichtwaarde. Het begrip stop refereert aan de klikstops voor het instellen van sluitertijd

en diafragma op mechanische camera's. Een verschil van 1 lichtwaarde of 1 stop betekent een

vermindering of verdubbeling van de hoeveelheid licht.

Soms wordt de belichtingsmeter van de camera door bepaalde omstandighe-

den misleid. Dan biedt de belichtingscorrectie uitkomst. Zo kan bijvoorbeeld

een zeer licht tafereel, zoals een sneeuwlandschap of een zon-

beschenen wit strand, te donker op de opname komen. Pas dan

voordat u de opname maakt de belichting aan met een correctie

van +1 of +2 om een juiste belichting te krijgen.

In dit voorbeeld ziet het donkere tafereel er op de lcd-monitor

licht en uitgebleekt uit. Door de belichting met -1,5 LW te vermin-

deren wordt de sfeer van de ondergaande zon behouden.
