Verschijnt er een boodschap dat de kaart door de camera niet wordt herkend (card-not-recognized),
dan is het waarschijnlijk noodzakelijk de kaart te formatteren. Soms kan het nodig zijn een kaart die
in een andere camera werd gebruikt opnieuw te formatteren. Verschijnt de boodschap dat de kaart
niet kan worden gebruikt (unable-to-use-card), dan is de kaart niet compatible met de camera en kan
hij niet worden geformatteerd.
Formateren van de kaart gebeurt via de basic-sectie van het setup-menu (blz. 96). Bij het formatte-
ren wordt alle informatie die op kaart staat gewist.
Vergeleken met SD-geheugenkaarten is de responstijd bij opname
en weergave van MultiMedia-kaarten langer. Dat is geen defect,
het heeft te maken met de manier waarop de kaart werkt. Bij het
gebruik van kaarten met een grote capaciteit kunnen bewerkingen
als wissen langer duren.
Een SD-geheugenkaart heeft een schrijfbeveiliging. Is die inge-
schakeld, dan kunnen er op de kaart geen beelden worden opge-
nomen. De beveiliging wordt geactiveerd door de schuif naar
beneden te schuiven. Wordt er geprobeerd met de camera een
beeld op te nemen of te wissen, dan verschijnt de boodschap dat
de kaart vergrendeld is (card locked) op de lcd-monitor, en knip-
pert het oranje lampje naast de zoeker snel. Kijk voor onderhoud
en opslag van geheugenkaarten op blz. 122.
