Doordat de optische zoeker en het objectief op enige afstand van elkaar zitten, stemmen de beelden

die ze vormen niet honderd procent overeen; dit verschijnsel wordt parallax genoemd. Op korte

afstanden kan de parallax leiden tot verkeerde beelduitsneden; de afwijking is sterker naarmate er

meer wordt ingezoomd. Is het onderwerp dichter bij dan 1 m (groothoekstand) of 3 m (telestand),

gebruik dan de lcd-monitor om de beelduitsnede te bepalen; omdat het objectief het beeld vormt dat

op de lcd-monitor verschijnt treedt er geen parallax op.
