- Never leave the appliance unattended while in use.
- Never leave the appliance connected and unattended if is not in use. This
saves energy and prolongs the life of the appliance.
-Donotremovethelterholderwhencoffeeisbeingmade,asatthattimeit
is under pressure.
- Any misuse or failure to follow the instructions for use renders the guarantee
and the manufacturer’s liability null and void.
Instructions for use
Before use:
- Make sure that all the product’s packaging has been removed.
-Beforeconnectingthemachine,checkthatthebuttons(F,G)arenotpressed,
andthecoffee/steamselector(H)isincentralposition
-Beforeusingthisproductforthersttime,itisadvisabletotestitonlywith
water.
-Beforeusingtheproductforthersttime,cleanthepartsthatwillcomeinto
contact with food in the manner described in the cleaning section.
Priming the circuit:
Thissimpleoperationensuresoptimumdispensingandmustbecarriedout:
-Whenrststarting:
-Whenthemachinehasbeenoutofuseforalongtime(1or2weeks)
-After making steam
-When the tank has run out of water.
- Fill the receptacle taking care to observe the MAX level
- Connect the appliance to the mains.
-Settheon/offswitch(F)attheonposition.Thepilotlightwillcomeon
- You do not have to wait for the machine to heat up for this operation
-Withoutttingthelterholder(orwiththelterholdertted,butwithoutcoffee),
place a recipient in the position of the coffee cup.
- Select the coffee position by rotating the control to this position.
-Waterwillexitthroughthelterholderposition.Waituntilapproximatelyone
cupful has exited
-Tonishserving,rotatetheselectioncontroltothecentralposition..
This will complete the priming operation.
Filling with water:
-Thedepositmustbelledwithwaterbeforeturningtheapplianceon.
- Remove the water tank.
- Open the cover.
-FillthedeposittakingcaretoobservetheMAXlevel(Fig.1)
- Close the lid.
-Replacethetankinitshousing,ensuringthatitiswelltted.
Preparing coffee:
-Removethelterholder.
-Positionthegroundcoffeelter(M)lterholder
- We recommend using natural toast coffee, as using roasted coffee may affect
the operation of the machine.
-Filltheremovablelterwithgroundcoffee(6-7gpercuptobeprepared).
-Ifyouwishtomake1coffee,lltheladle(1spoonful)andtakethecapacityof
the measuring spoon as the measure for one coffee until half its capacity.
- For 2 coffees, put in 2 spoonfuls.
- Next lightly press down the ground coffee with the back of the spoon.
-Beforettingthelterholderinthecoffee-makerassembly,turntheladle-
holder backwards.
-Fitthelterholderintheapplianceoncemore.
-Positionthelterholderinthecoffeeassemblybyinsertingtheassembly
downwards and turning it from left to right until it locks.
-Beforeconnectingthemachine,checkthatthebuttons(F,G)havenotbeen
pressed and that the steam coffee selector in the central position
-Insertthelterholderwithcoffeeintotheappliance
-Turn it anticlockwise until it is in the locked position.
- Connect the appliance to the mains.
- Turn the appliance on using the on/off switch.
- The pilot light comes on.
-Waituntilthepilotlight(E)islighting
-Placeoneortwopre-heatedcupsatthelterholderoutlet.
- Turn the coffee/steam selector to the coffee position. The coffee infusion will
begin to exit. When you have obtained the desired quantity of espresso coffee
(shortorlong),turnthecontroltothecentralposition.
-Onceservinghasnished,waitafewsecondsandremovethecupswiththe
coffee.
-Removethelterholderandemptythegroundsfromit.
-Washthelterholderwithrunningwateranddryitwell.
-Checkthattheremovablelterisperfectlyttedintothelterholder.
-Fitthelterholderintheapplianceoncemore.
Making coffee with single serving bags:
-Removethegroundcoffeelterfromthelterholder.
-Insertthelterforsingleservingbagsintothelterholder.
-Nextputthesingleservingbagintothelterholder;ensurethatthepaperof
thebagdoesnotprotrudefromthelterholder.
-Fixthelterholderintothecoffeeassemblybyinsertingitbelowtheassembly.
-Turnthelterholderfromlefttorightuntilitlocks.
- Place a cup or recipient under the coffee release
-Turn the control to the coffee outlet.
-Follow the “coffee preparation” process
-Removethesingleservinglterandthrowawaytheusedbag.
-Washthelterholderandthesingleservinglter(dryingthemwell)
Obtaining steam:
- The steam is used to foam milk for cappuccino, and also to heat other liquids.
- Turn the appliance on using the on/off switch.
- Wait until the pilot light has gone out which will indicate that the appliance has
reached an adequate temperature.
-Press the heating button and continue heating until the steam temperature
has been reached.
- The heating pilot light will come on indicating that the water is heating to
produce steam.
-Place a recipient under the steam tube.
-Select steam outlet
- Steam only will begin to exit.
- When you have enough, close the control and remove the recipient.
Auto-disconnection function
Minimoka machines are designed to save energy.
-Forthispurpose,ifafter30minutestheuserhasnotperformedanyactionon
it, the appliance will switch off automatically.
- To return to normal operation, simply press the on/off switch.
Once you have nished using the appliance:
- Turn the appliance off by pressing the on/off switch for a few seconds.
- Unplug the appliance to the mains.
- Remove the water from the water tank.
- Clean the appliance
Cleaning
- Disconnect the appliance from the mains and let it cool before undertaking
any cleaning task.
- Clean the equipment with a damp cloth with a few drops of washing-up liquid
and then dry.
- Do not use solvents, or products with an acid or base pH such as bleach, or
abrasive products, for cleaning the appliance.
- It is advisable to clean the appliance regularly and remove any food remains.
- If the appliance is not in good condition of cleanliness, its surface may
degrade and inexorably affect the duration of the appliance’s useful life and
could become unsafe to use.
-Afterwashing,dryallthepartsbeforettingthemtogetherandstoring.
How to deal with lime scale incrustations:
- For the appliance to work correctly it should be kept free of lime scale or
magnesium incrustations caused by the use of hard water.
- To prevent this kind of problem, we recommend the use of water with low lime
or magnesium mineralisation.
- However, if it is not possible to use the kind of water recommended above,
youshouldperiodicallyremovethelimescalefromtheappliance:
-Every6weeksifthewateris“veryhard”.
- Every 12 weeks if the water is “hard”.
-Todoso,werecommendtheuseofthespecicproductTaurusDecal,which
can be found in specialised shops and authorised technical services.
- Homemade solutions are not recommended in the de-scaling of this applian-
ce, such as the use of vinegar.
Anomalies and repair
- Take the appliance to an authorised technical support service if problems
arise. Do not try to dismantle or repair without assistance, as this may be
dangerous.
- If the connection to the mains has been damaged, it must be replaced and
you should proceed as you would in the case of damage.
