Κάλυψη

Το μέγιστο εύρος ραδιοκάλυψης εξαρτάται από την κατάσταση του εδάφους και

εξασφαλίζεται με χρήση σε ανοιχτό χώρο. Ο μόνος περιορισμός στο μέγιστο πιθανό

εύρος ραδιοκάλυψης ενδέχεται να προέλθει από περιβαλλοντολογικούς παράγοντες

όπως εμπόδια από δέντρα, κτήρια ή άλλα εμπόδια. Εντός αυτοκινήτου ή ανάμεσα σε

μεταλλικές κατασκευές, το εύρος ραδιοκάλυψης μπορεί να μειωθεί.

Σε κανονικές συνθήκες, η κάλυψη στην πόλη, με παρουσία κτηρίων ή άλλων εμποδίων

κυμαίνεται από 1χλμ σε 2 χλμ. Σε ανοιχτό χώρο αλλά με εμπόδια όπως δέντρα, σπίτια

κλπ η μέγιστη πιθανή απόσταση κάλυψης, είναι περίπου 4-6 χλμ. Σε ανοιχτό χώρο,

χωρίς εμπόδια και με οπτική επαφή η κάλυψη μπορεί να ξεπεράσει τα 12 χλμ.
