Preparation:
Before switching on the appliance, open the lid and pour the desired volume of water into
the water tank. Always take fresh, cold water never take hot water to fill the tank. Using the
glass jug hold the lid of the jug open while filling water. This makes water filling easier.
The number of cups can be read on the side of the tank on the water level indicator.
Do only fill water to the MAX level indicator, not more.
Place the glass jug under the filter arrangement with fully and firmly closed lid. For
maximum heat retention, rinse the glass jug with hot water. The glass jug has a drip-
through-lid. Close the lid firmly. Always place the glass jug on the appliance under the filter
unit before you switch on the appliance!
Open the filter unit (handle on the right side, next to the water level indicator)). Insert the
permanent filter (or paper filter 1 x4 is also possible) and fill in the desired quantity of
ground coffee. Close the lid. Take approximately one teaspoon of coffee powder for one
cup of coffee. Using more makes the coffee stronger.
Switch-on:
Now the appliance is ready to switch on. Push the ON/OFF switch (Position “I”), the switch
is illuminated. The water will be heated and the brewing progress starts. The coffee runs
through filter and drip-through-lid into the glass jug. The filter unit is equipped with
a drip-stop valve function. Only if the glass jug closed with the drip-through-lid is placed
exactly under the filter holder, the drip-stop function is cancelled and coffee will run exactly.
Do only use the provided glass jug with this appliance. Otherwise exact function is not
assured. CAUTION! Never run the appliance without the provided glass jug with closed lid!
You also can switch manually into “0” position, to interrupt the brewing process.
After brewing is finished:
Remove the glass jug.
Switch off the coffee machine after each use or as soon as the coffee jug is removed
permanently.
Keeping warm:
The rest of the coffee keeps warm in the glass jug on the keep warm plate.
Switch off after the end of the brewing process ends also the heating of the warming plate.
Special notes:
Fill cold water only into the water compartment. Do not pour milk or ready-made beverages
into the water compartment to avoid staining and damage.
Switch off the appliance and let it cool down for minimum 10 minutes before reusing.
Do not fill water into the coffee maker when it is still hot as it could be dangerous or cause
damage.
When the glass jug is empty and after each use do not forget to switch off the coffee maker!
Otherwise it will heat all the time. For safety reason always unplug after use.
Do not leave water in the tank over longer period. Emptying the water tank completely after
each use, will avoid the development of lime residues.
To avoid development of germ inside the coffee maker (e. g. by drinking water staying in the
machine for longer time or humid coffee residues which are left inside), always clean the
