Low-speed lenses, e.g. with an aperture of f/5.6
or f/8 (such as zoom lenses), significantly restrict
the range of the autofocus measuring flash!
AF operating modes
Two operating modes are available with AF cameras
(depending on the camera model):
• Focusing priority (SINGLE AF):
The shutter can only be released when the subject has
been sharply focused by the AF system. If the camera’s
AF system is unable to focus sharply, then the shutter
cannot be released and the flash cannot be fired.
• Shutter release priority (CONTINUOUS AF)
The shutter can always be tripped, irrespective of
sharp focusing.
Shots may be blurred if the release is
actuated before focusing has been com-pleted
by the camera.The AF measuring flash is deac-
tivated in this operating mode!

further details about the AF modes and their activation.

Modi di funzionamento AF
Con fotocamere AF, a seconda del modello, sono dis-
ponibili due modi di funzionamento:
• Priorità di messa a fuoco (SINGLE AF)
Potete far scattare la fotocamera soltanto dopo che
il sistema AF ha messo a fuoco il soggetto della
ripresa. Se il sistema AF della fotocamera non è in
grado di mettere a fuoco il motivo, non si può scat-
tare la ripresa, nè attivare il flash.
• Priorità dello scatto (CONTINOUS AF)
Potete far scattare la fotocamera in ogni momento
indipendentemente dalla messa a fuoco.
Se si attiva lo scatto prima che la foto-camera abbia
terminato la messa a fuoco, si rischiano di avere
delle riprese poco nitide. Con questo modo di fun-
zionamento il raggio di misurazione AF è disattivato.
¡Los objetivos con apertura de diafragma inicial
reducida p.e. de 5,6 o 8 (p.e. objetivos TELE-
Zoom) limitan considerablemente el alcance del
destello de medición AF!
Tipos de funcionamiento AF
En las cámaras AF hay dos tipos de funcionamiento
(dependiendo del modelo de cámara):
• Prioridad de nitidez (Single AF):
Solo puede disparar la cámara, si el sistema AF
enfoca nítidamente sobre el objeto a fotografiar.Si el
sistema AF de cámara no enfoca nítidamente,
entonces la cámara (y también el flash) no disparan!
• Prioridad de disparo (Continuos AF):
Vd. puede disparar la cámara en cualquier momen-
to, independientemente del enfoque nítido.
Si pulsa el disparador corre peligro de que las
fotografías no salgan muy nítidas, antes de que
la cámara haya finalizado el enfoque nítido. En
este tipo de funcionamiento el destello de medi-
ción AF está desactivado!
