De afstandsbediening brengt de besturingscommando’s per infraroodlicht over naar het TV-toestel. Richt, volgens de voorschriften, de afstandsbedie-
ning altijd op het TV-toestel. Andere infraroodbestuurde apparatuur of systemen (bijv. infraroodhoofdtelefoon) kunnen in bepaalde omstandigheden
worden gestoord.
Directe zonnebestraling op het TV-toestel kan in bepaalde omstandigheden tot storingen leiden omdat het TV-toestel de infraroodsignalen van de
afstandsbediening niet herkent. Om het TV-toestel met de afstandsbediening te kunnen bedienen, mag het niet met de nettoets zijn uitgeschakeld.
