your power supply.
7.1 Fit the anti-splintering footplate
Fig. A
Danger of injury due to the sharp jigsaw blade.
Remove the saw blade before fitting the
anti-
splintering footplate insert (2).
Turn the machine over so that the footplate faces
upwards. Insert the anti-splintering footplate from
the front,
ensuring the following:
The smooth side of the footplate faces upwards.
The slot is facing to the rear (towards the mains
cable).
If you are working with the protective plate attached (1)
(depending on fittings), fit the anti-splintering footplate
insert in the protective plate.
7.2 Fit the saw blade
Fig. B
Danger of injury due to the sharp jigsaw blade.
After stopping work, the jigsaw blade may still
be hot. Wear protective gloves.
Use a saw blade that is suitable for the material
being sawn.
- Turn the clamping lever (18) forwards to the stop
and hold in place.
- Insert the saw blade (15) against the spring force
until the stop. (The saw teeth are facing forwards).
Ensure that the blade is correctly positioned in the
groove of the saw blade support roller (16).
- Release the clamping lever (18). (It returns to its
initial position by itself. The saw blade is now
securely tightened).
7.3 Removing the saw blade
Caution: Be careful not to point the jigsaw at
anyone when removing it.
- Turn the clamping lever (18) forward until the stop;
the saw blade is ejected as a result of spring force.
7.4 Attach / remove the protective cap
Fig. A
Attachment: Push on the protective cap (4) from
the front until it engages
Removal: Grip both sides of the protective cap (4),
then pull forwards and remove.
7.5 Sawing with dust extraction
Fig. A
- Fit the extractor connection piece (10). Connect a
suitable extraction device.
- Attach the protective cap (4) for maximum
extraction efficiency.
- Switch off the chip blower (see chapter 8.1).
7.6 Sawing without dust extraction
- Work with the protective cap (4) removed (see
Removal chapter 7.4).
7.7 Diagonal cuts
Fig. C and D
Remove the protective cap (4), the protective plate
(1), anti-splintering footplate (2) and extraction
hose. These parts cannot be used for diagonal cuts.
- STE 140 Plus, STEB 140 Plus: remove the clamp
lever (20). STE 140, STEB 140: Release screw
(21).
- Slide the footplate (9) back slightly and turn.
- You can read off the angles from the scale (19).
Adjust to different angles using an angle gage.
- Push the footplate (9) forward in the angles
provided until it engages.
- STE 140 Plus, STEB 140 Plus: Push in the clamp
lever (20). STE 140, STEB 140: Tighten screw
(21).
8.1 Chip blower
Fig. A
Turn the button (7) to turn on (symbol ) or off.
8.2 Set the pendulum motion
Fig. A
Set the required pendulum motion using the
adjustment lever (6).
Position "0" = pendulum motion is switched off
. . .
Position "III" = maximum pendulum motion
Recommended settings:
Fig. H.
The best way to determine the ideal setting is
through a practical trial.
8.3 Set the maximum speed/stroke
Fig. A
Set the machine to maximum speed using the
setting wheel (11). This is also possible during
operation.
STE 140 Plus, STEB 140 Plus:
Setting wheel setting "A" = automatic start-up
