2. Put both wheels (14) on the axle. To
do so the splitter's frame must be
slightly lifted by a second person.
3. Secure wheels on the axle by a split
pin.
5.4 Installing the Operating
Levers
1. On both operating levers (15) the
bolts (17) need to be pulled out
before installation:
remove split pin (16);
then pull bolt (17) out.
2. Fit operating lever (15) into the slot-
ted guide of the bracket. The lever is
fitted correctly if the claw is on the
top of the operating lever.
3. Put bolts (17) from the top through
the holes in the bracket and the
operating lever.
4. Secure bolt (17) with split pin (16)
from below.
5.5 Installing the Safety Gate
1. Fasten safety gate (19) as illustrated
with hexagon head screw, two
washers and prevailing torque-type
hexagon nut to the square tube (18).
Tigthen hexagon nut only so much
that the safety gate can easily be
lifted and lowered.
5.6 Installing the Support
Table
The support table can be installed in 3
different positions.
1. Rotate the two securing levers (22)
before installing the support table
(20) into correct position: the long
handle must point up.
2. Put support table into the holders
(21).
3. Rotate securing levers on both sides
into the recesses of the table rails.
5.7 Venting the Oil Reservoir
To avoid accidental escape of oil during
transport the oil reservoir cap is fully
closed for shipping.
Before initial operation the oil reservoir
cap must be opened so much that air
can escape from the reservoir.
A
Caution!
When the splitter is working the oil
reservoir cap must be opened to the
extent that the hydraulic oil reservoir
is vented.
1. Open oil reservoir cap (23) one full
turn, until the air can escape from
the reservoir.
5.8 Mains Connection
B
Danger! High voltage
Operate the splitter only on a power
source matching the following
requirements (see also "Technical
Specifications"):
Outlets with neutral wire, properly
installed, grounded and tested.
Mains voltage and frequency
must conform with the data
stated on the splitter's nameplate.
Fuse protection by a residual cur-
rent device (RCD) of 30 mA fault
current sensivity.
System impedance Z
max.
at the
interconnection point (house
service connection) 0.35 Ohm
maximum.
3
Note
Check with your local Electricity
Board or electrician if in doubt whether
your house service connection meets
these requirements.
Position power supply cable so it
does not interfere with the work and
is not damaged.
Protect power supply cable from heat,
corrosive liquids and sharp edges.
Use only rubber-jacketed extension
cables of sufficient lead cross section
(see "Technical Specifications").
Do not pull on power supply cable to
unplug.
5.9 Initial
Ooperation
A
Keep clear of the moving split-
ting knife!
To ensure safe transport, the splitting
knife is retained in the lowest position
for shipping. When the splitter is
turned ON the splitting knife raises
automatically. During initial opera-
tion, be sure that there is about one
meter of clearance available above
the splitting knife.
