Before your ﬁrst ride

1. If you want to use your bicycle on public roads, it

has to comply with the respective legal require-

ments. These requirements may vary in each

country. The ﬁttings of your MERIDA pedelec are

therefore not necessarily complete.

Ask your MERIDA dealer about the laws and regu-

lations applicable in your country or in the country

where you intend to use your MERIDA pedelec.

Have your MERIDA pedelec equipped accordingly

before using it on public roads.

2. The rechargeable battery of your MERIDA pedelec

must be charged before you set off for the ﬁrst time

. Are you familiar with the handling and mount-

ing of the rechargeable battery? Before you set off

for the ﬁrst time check whether the battery is prop-

erly mounted, that it has engaged audibly and that

it is locked.

– Do observe the permissible maximum speed in-

dicated by the trailer manufacturer. Follow in this

regard the operating instructions of the trailer man-

ufacturer.

– Persons must be transported only in trailers ap-

proved for this purpose.

G Always buckle up children in the trailer, as

uncontrolled movements of the child can

make the MERIDA pedelec/e-MTB or the

trailer topple over.

Always protect your child with a suitable hel-

met. In case of an accident a trailer provides

no more than an imperfect protection. Keep

in mind that you should always wear a helmet as well.

G Trailers modify the braking behavior and the

width of your pedelec/e-MTB. Practice ﬁrst

of all by towing an empty trailer

the trailer with a long pole with colored pennant to

increase visibility.

A Be aware of a longer stopping distance due

to the additional load of the child transport.
