display on the tank  you can choose the correct

number of cups. Small cup symbol = approx. 85ml

coee per cup, large cup symbol = approx. 125 ml

coee per cup.

•Closethelidonthewatertankandplacethetherm

jug with closed lid in the appliance.

•Opentheswivellter to the left.

into the ﬁlter holder by hand, to ensure a good ﬁt.

using 6g of ground coee per large cup.

•Turntheapplianceon. Brewing begins.

•Theapplianceturnsoautomatically15 minutes

after it has been turned on. This avoids unnecessary

use of electricity and saves energy. You can of course

turn the machine o manually at any time.

•Thedripstop prevents your coee from dripping,

when you remove the jug from the appliance.

4. Using the insulated pot

•Thebrewedcoeeowsthroughthecentralvalvein

the insulated lid of the pot.

•Topourcoeepressdownonthesealinglever.

•Removethelidsimplybypressingthesealsonthe

side while lifting the lid up .

5. Cleaning and maintenance

External cleaning

•Theappliancehousingandtheexternalpartsofthe

therm jug can be cleaned with a soft damp cloth.

•Theswivellterisdetachable and can be cleaned

in the dishwasher.

•Thethermjugshouldberinsedwithhotwaterafter

each use. Stubborn coee stains can be removed

with“PerfectCleanAccessories”fromMelitta

Do not use hard or abrasive objects, which could

damage the glass ﬂask.

Descaling

Depending on water hardness the appliance can

become calciﬁed with use. This also increases the

appliance’s energy consumption as lime scale on the

heating element can prevent the water heating

eectively. To avoid damage the appliance must be

descaled regularly.

The descaling process consists of 2 steps, both of

which must be completed.

1. Descaling

•Followthemanufacturersinstructionsregarding

amounts and pour the descaler into the water tank.

We recommend using "Melitta

AntiCalcFilterCafé

Machines".

•Turntheapplianceonandfollowthedescaler

manufacturer’s instructions.

•Whenthedescalerliquidhasfullyrunthrough

the appliance then it should be turned o.

2. Rinsing

•Afterstep1 the appliance must be rinsed with fresh

water. To do this allow the machine to cool for a

short time (approx. two minutes) then ﬁll the

appliance with the maximum amount of water.

•Turntheapplianceonandallowallthewatertoow

through it. Then turn the appliance o immediately.

•Repeattherinsingprocess.

6. Notes on disposal

•Applianceslabelledwiththissymbol are subject

to European guidelines for WEEE (Waste Electrical

and Electronic Equipment.

•Electricappliancesdonotgointhehouseholdbin.

Dispose of the appliance in an environmentally

friendly way using suitable collection systems.

•Packagingmaterialsarerawmaterialsandcanbe

recycled. Please recycle them.
