PRIOR TO FIRST USE
Before using for the first time (or after a long
period of storage), fill the kettle with water and
boilthewater.Emptyandrefillandboilagain.
1. Fill the kettle up to the maximum level
("MAX")shownonthewaterlevelgauge(8)
(the kettle can hold a maximum of 1.7 litres).
2. Switchonasdescribedunder"Usingthe
Appliance".Allowthewatertoboil.
3. Pouroutthewateronceithasboiled.
4. Repeatpoint2oncemore.Theapplianceis
now ready for use.
USING THE APPARATUS
1. Openthelid(2)usingtheopen/closebutton
(3).
2. Pour fresh water into the kettle. Fill the kettle
with water at least to the minimum mark
("MIN")andnotexceedingthemaximum
mark("MAX").Themarksareshownonthe
water level gauge.
3. Closethelidusingtheopen/closelidbutton
and make sure the lid clicks into place.
o Caution! If the lid is not correctly closed,
the appliance does not automatically
switch off, once the water boils.
4. Place the kettle on its base station (6) by
positioning it so the connector on the base
fits into the hole on the underside of the
kettle.
5. Plug in and switch on the power.
o Caution! If you press the left side of the
On/Offswitch(4)beforereplacingthe
kettle on the base, the kettle switches
on automatically when placed on the
base.Forsafety’ssake,checktheon/
off switch position before replacing the
kettle on the base to avoid accidentally
starting the kettle.
6. SwitchtheapplianceonbypressingtheOn/
Offbutton.Thekettlewillbegintoheatthe
water.
o If you want to interrupt the boiling, you
can do this at any time by pressing the
rightsideoftheOn/Offbutton.
o Oncethewaterisboiling,thekettlewill
automatically switch off thanks to the
integrated thermostat.
Tip:Youcanwindanyexcesscordintothecord
storage holder (7) on the underside of the base.
Anti boil-dry device
If you switch the kettle on without having filled
it with water, or when the water level is below
the"MIN"mark,theantiboil-drydevicewill
automaticallyswitchitoff.Theappliancecanbe
switched on normally as soon as it is filled with a
sufficient amount of water.
CLEANING
When cleaning the appliance, you should pay
attentiontothefollowingpoints:
• Removeplugfromthemainssocket,and
allow the appliance to cool down before
cleaning it.
• Neversubmergetheappliancebase,cordor
plug in water, and no water must be allowed
to enter the appliance base.
• Cleanthekettleandbasebywipingwitha
dampcloth.Alittledetergentcanbeaddedif
the appliance is heavily soiled.
• Donotusescouringpads,steelwoolor
any form of strong solvents or abrasive
cleaning agents to clean the appliance, as
they may damage the outside surfaces of the
appliance.
• Removethelimescalefilter(1)fromthe
appliance and carefully clean it with a soft
brush. Remove the filter by pulling it upwards
and out of the holder. Replace the filter in the
appliance after cleaning.
• IMPORTANT!Allowtheappliancetodry
fullyaftercleaningbeforeusingagain.The
appliance must not be used if the base or the
underside of the kettle is wet.
• Ensuretheapplianceiscleananddrybefore
storing.
DESCALING
Thelimecontentofordinarytapwatermeans
limescale may gradually be deposited inside the
appliance.Thislimescalemaybeloosenedusing
aceticacid(NOTordinaryvinegar)ordescaler,
available in supermarkets, etc.
1. Mix100mlaceticacidwith300mlcold
water, or follow the instructions on the
descaler packaging.
2. Pour the solution into the kettle and switch
onusingtheOn/Offbutton.
3. Boiluntiltheapplianceswitchesoff
automatically.
4. Leave the solution in the kettle for approx. 10
minutes before emptying.
5. Toremovethelastresiduesoflimescaleand
acetic, fill the kettle with fresh cold water and
boil.Dothisthreetimes.Theapplianceis
now ready for use.
