SAFETY MEASURES
Normal use of the appliance
• Incorrectuseofthisappliancemay
cause personal injury and damage to the
appliance.
• Useforitsintendedpurposeonly.The
manufacturer is not responsible for any
injury or damage resulting from incorrect use
orhandling(seealsoGuaranteeTerms).
• Forconnectionto230V,50Hzonly.
• Thekettlemayonlybeusedwiththebase
station supplied.
• Fordomesticuseonly.Notforoutdooror
commercial use.
• Removetheplugfromthesocketonceyou
have finished using the appliance.
• Pleasenotethattheappliancewillremain
hotforawhileafteryouswitchitoff.Always
allow it to cool completely before you put it
away or clean it.
• Donotsubmergeinwateroranyother
liquid.
• Donotswitchtheapplianceonunlessthere
is water in it.
• Waterlevelmustalwaysbebetween"MIN"
and"MAX".Checkwaterlevelusingthe
internal water level indicator.
• Neverleaveunattendedwheninuse,and
keep an eye on children.
• Avoidtouchingtheoutsideofthekettle
wheninuse,asitbecomeshot.Touchthe
handle and lid only. Be careful of hot steam
when opening the lid.
• Nevertouchtheapplianceorbasestationif
your hands are wet or damp.
Positioning the appliance
• Alwaysplacetheapplianceonalevel,dry,
stableandheat-resistantsurface.
• Alwaysplacetheapplianceatthebackof
a kitchen counter and at a safe distance
from flammable objects such as curtains,
tablecloths or similar.
• Theappliancemustnotbeplacedorstored
near other sources of heat.
• Donotcover.
Cord, plug and mains socket
• Checkregularlythatneitherthecordnor
plug is damaged and do not use if there is
any damage, or if it has been dropped on
the floor, dropped in water or damaged in
any other way.
• Iftheapplianceorplugisdamaged,itmust
be inspected and if necessary, repaired by
an authorised repair engineer, otherwise
there is a risk of electric shock. Never try to
repair the appliance yourself.
• Removetheplugfromthesocketwhen
cleaning, or when the device is not in use.
Avoidpullingthecordwhenremovingthe
plug from the socket. Instead, hold the plug.
• Donotallowthecordtohangovertheedge
ofatable/counter,andkeepitawayfromhot
objects and naked flames.
• Checkthatitisnotpossibletopullortrip
over the cord or any extension cord.
• Donotwindthecordaroundtheappliance.
• Checkthecordinthebasefitsintooneof
the small incisions in the edge to ensure the
base station is stable, and not standing on
the wire.
