Les écrans TFT à matrice active d’une
résolution de 1920 x 1080 pixels, se
composant chacun de trois sous
pixels (rouge, vert, bleu), utilisent au
total env. 6,2 millions de transistors de
commande. Compte tenu de ce très
grand nombre de transistors et des
processus de fabrication extrêmement
complexes qui y sont associés, il peut
survenir par endroits des pertes ou un
mauvais adressage de pixels ou de
sous pixels individuels.
