Errores de píxeles en los TVs LCD
A pesar de los métodos de fabricación modernos, debido a la alta complejidad
tecnológica en raros casos pueden fallar uno o varios puntos luminosos.
En caso de pantallas TFT de matriz activa con una
resolución de 1920 x 1080 píxeles, que están
compuestos por tres subpíxeles cada uno (rojo, verde,
azul), en total se emplean aprox. 6,2 millones de
elementos de excitación. Debido al enorme número
de transistores y del proceso de fabricación
especialmente complejo que éste conlleva, en pocos
casos se pueden producir fallos o una excitación
errónea de píxeles o de determinados subpíxeles.
