Figure C-2 Redundancy Configuration Edit Page
The following fields can be edited on the Redundancy Configuration Edit page:
Edit Field Description
Redundancy Enable or disable the whole Redundancy Feature.
Interface Choose the network interface on which the advertisement packets will be sent out and received
on.
Multicast Address Enter the multicast IP address used to send and receive packets.
Port Number Enter the UDP port used for redundancy advertisement packets.
Group ID In legacy 1:1 Redundancy mode, all devices which participate in the same redundancy group
must be configured with the same Group ID. In N to M Redundancy mode, all master receivers
must have their own group identity. Enter a value between 0 and 255 as appropriate.
Priority All devices participating in redundancy must be given a priority value that is used in election of
the master device. Enter a value between 1 and 255, with 255 having the highest priority. The
value of zero (0) is reserved and is for use by master devices to indicate that they are leaving
the redundancy group.
Interval
Enter the advertisement interval (in seconds) that the current master device will use to send out
advertisement packets. Ideally, backup devices would be configured for the same interval and
will use this setting to detect master device timeouts.
Preempt Mode Enable or disable Preempt Mode, which determines whether the receiver should attempt to take
over master functionality if it has a higher priority than the current master device. For N to M
Redundancy mode, see rules earlier on in this appendix.
N to M Redundancy Enable or disable N to M Redundancy mode. If disabled, legacy 1:1 Redundancy is assumed.
Enabling N to M allows specified backup receiver(s) to act as backup(s) for multiple master
receivers. The backup receiver will obtain the master receiver's configurations including carrier
settings, PID list, routing tables etc, when it achieves master status.
N to M Backup Specifies this N to M redundant receiver as a backup receiver. (Note in an N to M system, the
backup receiver must be specifically identified as a backup.)
