Line inputs (7/8)
Please refer to Fig. 2 for connecting to low-level outputs on a receiver/amplifier (stereo mode). The two
channels are addedto each other and areoutput by the subwoofer.
Please refer to Fig. 3 for connecting to an AV receiver with low-level subwoofer output. A second
subwoofer may beconnected to the second inputsocket (8).
High-level inputs (9)

channels are addedto each other and areoutput by the subwoofer.
Phase regulator (3)
In normal use the phase control should be set to 0°. However, in rare cases it may be advantageous to
vary thephase tobetween 0 and180° (e.g. if thesubwoofer is far awayfrom the front satellitesor in the
eventofunfavourableacoustics inthe room).Generally speaking:the settingwhere thelower basetone
area has amore natural sound is thecorrect one.
Level control (6)
This control isused to set the bassvolume according to your preferences.Proceed as follows:
1. Setthe bass control of youramplifier into its centre(linear) position.
2. Important: Set thelevel control toits left stop(lowest volume).
3. Now, playback some music and setthe volume control of theamplifier to the desired level.
4. Setthe subwoofer level control tothe desired bass level.
Warning: when connecting to an AV receiver's subwoofer output, the subwoofer level should be set to
0 dB inthe receiver's set-up.
Crossover frequency control(5), SUB/LFE switch (4)
1. Switch SUB/LFE switch to 'SUB': this option is selected when a normal (broadband) audio signal is
available as the input signal (e.g. stereo mode). The crossover frequency control is used to set the
subwoofer's maximumworking frequency.The frequencyshould beset to 100Hz – 150Hz for shelf
speakers.The setting shouldbe 50 Hz – 100Hz for floor speakers.
2. Switch SUB/LFE switch to'LFE': this option is selected when a low-pass filtered signal(LFE signal)
is available (e. g. connecting to the subwoofer output on anAV receiver). The internal filter will be
switched off, the crossover frequency control will have no effect. Here, the crossover frequency
betweenthesubwooferandsurroundloudspeakersmust besetontheAVreceiver.Pleasealsorefer
to theAVreceiver's operating instructions.
Fuse (12)
Only use afuse with the parametersindicated next to the fuseholder on the rear ofthe amplifier.
