Recipes for coffee with alcohol
Irish coffee
Serves 2
• 200 ml strong coffee
• 50 ml whiskey
• 2 tsp sugar
• 3 tsp double cream
Warm the whiskey and sugar over a low heat. Pour the hot coffee into the glasses and add
the whiskey. Gently pour some cream onto the surface, down the back of a tablespoon to
prevent it sinking into the coffee.
Caribbean coffee
Serves 4
• 450 ml very strong cold coffee
• 50 ml tequila or white rum
• 50 ml Malibu
• 100 ml coconut milk

tsp vanilla essence
• Crushed ice
• Whipped cream
Blend all the ingredients in a food processor. Serve in glasses, adding a tablespoonful of
whipped cream to each.
Decorate with shavings of toasted coconut.
Coffee laced with cognac
Serves 2
• 200 ml strong coffee
• 2 tbsp cognac
• Single cream
• Sugar
• Few drops vanilla essence
• Crushed ice
Crush the ice in a food processor, then add the coffee, sugar,
cognac and cream. Pulse a few times. Serve in glasses, adding
some whipped cream if you wish and decorating with chocolate
shavings.
