tool” in all o f the warnings list e d below refers t o y our
mains- operated (corded ) power tool or batt e ry - operated
(cordless) pow er t ool.

1) WORK ARE A
a ) Keep w ork area cl ean and w el l lit . Cluttered and
dark areas in vite accidents.
b) Do not o perate pow e r tools in explosive
atmosph eres, such as in the presence of
ammable liquids, gases, or dust. Pow er t ools
create sparks which may ignite the dust or fumes.
c) Keep children and bystan ders aw ay while
operat ing a power tool. Distractions can cause
you to lose control.
2 ) E LECTRICAL SAFETY
a) Power tool plugs mu st ma tch t he ou tlet. Never
modif y t he p lug i n any way . Do not use any
adapter plugs wit h ea rth ed ( groun ded ) power
tools. U nmodied pl ugs and matching outlets will
reduce risk o f electric shock.
b ) Avoid body contact with ea rt hed o r grou nded
sur faces such as pipes, rad iators, ranges
and refrigerators. There is an increased risk of
electric shock i f your body is ear thed or grounded.
c) Do not expose po wer tools to r ain or wet
condition s. Water entering a power tool will
increase the risk o f electric shock.
d ) Do not abuse the co rd. N ever use the cord for
carr ying, pulling or unpluggin g th e power t oo l.
Keep cord away from h eat, oil, shar p edge s
or moving parts . Damaged or entangled cords
increase the risk o f electric shock.
e) W hen o perati ng a pow e r tool outdoors, u se a n
extension cord sui table for outdoor use. Use of
a cord sui table for outdoor use reduces the risk of
electric shock.
3 ) PERSONAL SAFETY
a) St ay aler t , watch what you a re d oing a nd
use common sense when oper ating a power
tool. Do not use a power tool while you are
tired or unde r th e in uence of drugs, alcohol,
or me dication. A moment of in at tentio n while
operating power tools may result in s e rious
personal injur y .
b) Use safet y equipment. Always wear eye
protection . Safety equipment such as a dust
mask, non - skid sa fety shoes, hard hat, or hearing
protect ion used f or appropriat e condi tions w ill
reduce personal in juries.
c) Avoid accidental s tar ting. Ensure the switch is
in t he of f - position before pl ugging in. Carrying
pow e r tools with your nger on the switch or
plugging in power tools that have the switch on
invit es accid e nts.
d) Remov e any adjusting k ey or wrench before
turning the tool on. A w rench or a ke y that is left
attached to a rota ting part of the po wer t ool ma y
result in pe rsonal injury.
e) Do not overreach. K ee p pr oper f oot ing a nd
balance at all times. This enables better control
of the power tool in un expected situations.
f) Dr ess p roperly. Do not wear loos e clot hing
or jeweller y. Keep your hair , clothing, a nd
gloves away from moving par ts. Loose cloth e s,
jewel ler y or long hair can be caught in moving
parts.
g) If devices are provid ed for the conn ection of
dust e x trac tion and collect ion fac ilities, ensure
that these ar e conn ected and proper ly u sed.
Use of these de vices can reduce dust- related
hazards.
4 ) POWER TOOL US E AND CARE
a) Do not force the power tool. Use the correct
power tool f o r your application. The correct
pow e r tool will do the job better and saf e r at t he
rate for which it w as designed.
b) Do not u se t he power tool if t he switc h does
not tur n it on and off. Any power tool that cannot
be controlled with the s witch is dangerous and
must be rep aired.
c) D isconnect the p lug fr om t he power source
before making any adjustments, changing
accessories , or storing power tools. Such
prev e ntiv e saf et y measures redu ce the risk of
starting the po wer t ool a ccidentally .
d) Store id le power tools out of the re ach of
childr en an d do not allow p ersons unfamiliar
with the power tool or these instruc tions
to ope rate t he power tool. P ower tools are
dangerous in t he hands of untrained users.
e) M aintain power tools. Check for mi salignme nt
or bi nding of moving par ts , bre akage of parts ,
and any other condition that m ay af fect the
power tools operation. If damaged , have t he
power tool repaired b efore u se. Many accidents
are caused b y poorly maintained pow e r tools.
f) Keep cutting tools sharp and clea n. Properly
maintained cutting tools with sharp cutting edges
are less lik ely t o bind and are eas ier to control .
g) Use the power tool, acc essories and tool b its
etc., in accordance with th ese in struct ions and
in t he ma nner intended for the pa rtic ular type
of power t ool, t aking into account the working
condition s an d th e work to be pe rforme d. Use
of the power tool for operations dif ferent form
intended could result in a hazardous situation.
5 ) S ERVICE
a) H ave your power tool serv iced by a qualied
repair personnel using on ly i dentical
replacem ent p art s. This wil l ensure that the
safety of the po wer tool is maintained.
ADDITIONAL SAFETY RULES F OR ROT AR Y
MOWERS
• Only use this Lawn Mower when a Residual Current
Device (RCD ) w ith a tripping current of not mor e than
30mA is in the circuit.
• If an extensio n cord is used mak e sure it is for outdo or
use and mark ed as such. The recom mended siz e
of extension cord is not light er than 1 .5mm2 and a
maximum of 1 0 metres in lengt h.
• Completely uncoil your extension cable before use
to preven t overheating and loss o f mo wer e f ciency .
When tidying away the cable, wind it carefu lly t o av oid
kinking.
WARNING. Af ter switchi ng off the machine, the c ut ting
blade continues to rotate for a f ew mor e seconds.
• Frequently inspect the condition of t he cutting blades.
Damaged blades m ust be replaced immediately . Blunt
blades should be sharpened. Follo w all the required
precautions when replacing the blades.
• Before use check the supply and e x tension cord
for signs of damage or agei ng. If the cord becomes
damaged during use, d isconnect the cord from the
supply immediately . DO NOT TOUCH THE CORD
BEFORE DISCONNE CTING THE SU PPL Y .
• Do no t use the appliance if the cord is d amaged or
worn.
• Read t he instruct ions care fully . Be familiar with the
controls and proper use of the equipment.
• Keep extension cord a way from c ut ting blades.
• Wear eye and ear prot e ction. Wear dust protection
if the mowing action causes the raising of dust or
particles.
• Never allo w chi ldren, in rm people or people
unfamil iar with these ins tructions t o use the rotary
collect mower .
• Avoid using the mower , while people, especial ly
children and the in rm, or pets are nearby .
• Use t he mo wer on ly in dayligh t or good ar ticial light.
• Do no t operat e the mow e r unless t he grass box is i n
place.
• Never operat e the mow er with a damaged base.
• Never operat e the appliance with defectiv e guards
or shields, or witho ut safe t y devices, for e xample
deectors and /or grass cat cher, in place.
• When starting up and when the machine is in
operation, keep the cutting section a way from al l parts
of the body , especially the hands and feet.
• Do no t start t he machi ne when it is no t in the operating
position.
• Thoroughly inspect th e mow er for loose or damaged
parts bef ore each use. Do not use the unit until
adjustments or repairs ar e made.
• Use o nly the manufact urer’s recommended
replacement parts and accessories.
• Always disconnect the mower from the mains when
leavin g it una ttended.
• Switch the motor off and pull out the plug when the
machine is not bei ng used, being cleaned, being
mov ed from one place t o ano ther or when the blades
are being ch a nged or ad justed.
• If t here is an interruption to the power supply or the
extension cable is d amaged, switch off the m achine
immediat ely and remov e the plug from the po wer
point.
• Inspect and maintain the mower regularly . Have the
mow e r repaired only b y an authorised repairer .
• If p ower cord is d a maged, only have it repaired o r
replaced by an aut horised service centre.
• Check t hat all grass cuttings an d dirt have been
remov ed from the ventilat ion v ents.
• When no t in use, store the mower out o f the reach of
children and inrm peopl e.
WARNING. In order t o reduce t he risk, disconnect the
plug from the suppl y power , only use recommended
accessories as requi red, ot her wise personal injury may
result.
• Do no t use the machine to cut grass which is no t on
the ground. F or ex ample, do not cut grass which is on
rocks.
• Do no t swi tch on the machine in enclosed or poorly
venti lated spaces or in the pr esence of i nammable
and/or exp losive substances such as liqu ids, gasses
and powders.
• Always stop the mower and switch off at the mains
when cutting is dela yed, e mptying the grass bo x or
when walking from one cutting location to another .
• Do no t cross roads or gra vel paths w ith th e machin e
still running.
• Do no t mov e t he machin e by pulling on the electrical
cable. Always use the handgrip.
• Keep a balanced and stable s tance whil e using the
machine.
• Ensure that t he area being cut i s free from strings,
stones and debris. Remo ve any objects that could be
throw n during c ut ting or could wind around t he cutting
mechanism.
• If y ou hi t or become entangled wi th a foreign object,
stop the motor and disconnect fr om the mains
immediat ely t o check for damage. Repair an y damage
before further o pe ration is attempted. Do not op e rate
the mower with loose or damaged parts.
• Do no t cut against hard o bjects. This could cause
injury to t he operat or and damage to the ma chine.
• Keep your hands, fa ce and feet away from all movin g
parts.
• If p ossible, av oid cutting wet g ra ss.
• Exercise proper caut ion when mowi ng on sloping
ground. Wat ch y our foo ting a nd wear non - slip
footwear . Mow along the sl ope not up and do wn it . Do
not mo w on steep slopes. Be especiall y cautious when
changing direction on slopes – stand above the mower
to avoi d risk of injury.
• Never operat e the mow er baref oot or when wearing
open sandals or canv as shoes.
• Do no t mow by pulling the machine tow ards yo u.
• When mo wing, keep the cable aw ay fr om the mow e r .
Y our direction of work sho uld be a way from the po wer
point. Mow in straight lines, no t in circles.
• Always keep hands and feet aw ay from rotat ing parts.
• When t he machin e is not in use , st ore it in a dry , and
high or l ocked - up p lace, out of r each of children.
• Check t he grass catcher frequently for wear or
deteriorat ion.
• After use , disconn e ct the machine from the power
supply and c heck for damage. I f you hav e th e slight est
doubts, check with an authori sed service centre.
• Only use the machine according to the instructions
given in this manual.
