2. LISENCE INFORMATION
Your
MT-700
complies with European Standard EN-301 025-1 v1.3.1. Users must
know and comply with all applicable rules and regulations for the country or
countries having jurisdiction over waters where your transceiver is operated.
Depending upon national regulations, a station license may be required for a VHF
transceiver and an operator license or permit may be required for an individual to
operate a VHF transceiver.

2.1 Digital Selective Calling (DSC) Capability
You must obtain a nine-digit maritime mobile service identity (MMSI) and program it
into the unit before you transmit. To obtain an MMSI, you will be asked to provide
certain information about your ship. It is important that you obtain an MMSI
because National Coast Guards and other search and rescue (SAR) agencies use this
information to help speed search and rescue operations.
