Ein Einzelgerät, das mehrere Funktionen, beispielsweise eines DVD-Players,

Videorekorders, Radios oder Verstärkers, in sich vereint. Wird auch als Heimkino

bezeichnet.

Enthält einen eingebauten Rekorder und Player für die Aufzeichnung und Wiedergabe

von Video ohne die Verwendung einer Kassette oder Disc. Im Allgemeinen können

PVR das aktuelle oder aufgezeichnete Fernsehbild anhalten oder zurücklaufen lassen

undverfügen über Instant Replay- und Zeitlupenfunktionen. Beispiele für Hersteller

und Anbieter: TiVo, ReplayTV, UltimateTV und Keen PM. Viele Anbieter von Satelliten-

und Kabelfernsehen bieten Empfangsgeräte mit integriertem PVR an.

Empfänger

Wird auch als Tuner oder Stereoempfänger bezeichnet. Diese Komponente

nimmt Audio- oder Radiosignale an und leitet sie weiter. Diese Bezeichnung wird

üblicherweise für ein Gerät verwendet, das einen Vorverstärker, Surround-Prozessor,

Mehrkanalverstärker und einen UKW/MW-Tuner enthält.

Funk

Wird von bestimmten Fernbedienungen zum Steuern von Geräten genutzt,

daimGegensatz zu Infrarotgeräten keine direkte Sichtverbindung erforderlich ist.
