ATTENTION
Before using your Load UP battery charger, first read this manual thoroughly, so
that accidents can be prevented.
1.0 GENERAL
Having bought the Load UP battery charger, you have become the owner of a
high quality, reliable machine. Using it properly and maintaining it regularly, the
battery charger will carry out heavy jobs for years to come.
In this operation manual you will find use and maintenance prescriptions. Before
using the battery charger, read this manual first and be sure that others have
read it as well and have taken the necessary precautions.
The appliance must be used only for the purpose for which it was specifically
designed. All other uses are to be considered incorrect and therefore
unreasonable. The manufacturer cannot be held responsible for any damage
resulting from improper, incorrect or unreasonable use.
2.0 DESCRIPTION
These machines allow to charge lead batteries, containing free-electrolyte of
the type normally used in motor vehicles (petrol and diesel).
They are equipped with thermal protection (secondary) and fuse (primary).
The charging occurs with a gradual decrease of power as the battery is being
charged (W-shaped curve, in accordance with Standard DIN 41774).
It is always advisable for the power of the battery charger to be proportioned to the
capacity of the batteries being charged. A too small battery charger can take an
exceedingly long time to charge the battery, while a too powerful one can damage
it.
The recommended charging current is about one tenth of the capacity in Ah of the
accumulator (i.e. the battery is 40Ah, the proper current is about 4A).
However, the initial current can also be higher (see the table in paragraph 2.1 and
