3. Grill pan (#6)
The flat pan can also be used as a grill pan for
foodstuffs such as steaks or grilled cheese
4. Frying pan (#7)
The casserole can be used as a frying pan -
ideal for searing ham, for preparing gravy, or
for slow cooking on an induction hob
5. Casserole (#8)
Place the flat pan with the steel induction
plate on top of the casserole to use the
WonderCooker as a Dutch oven - perfect
for braising foodstuffs like ribs or for baking
bread
RECOMMENDATIONS
When cooking on the hob
We recommend a low to medium heat setting
for most cooking processes The CeramiTech
coating distributes the heat more efficiently
and evenly This means that some protein-
rich foods are cooked more quickly
The CeramiTech coating eliminates the
requirement for addition of butter or cooking
oil If you want to use oil or butter, we
recommend using oil or butter with a high
smoke point, such as peanut oil, corn oil or
(clarified) butter
Olive oil and spray oils should not be used for
frying or deep frying, because olive oil has a
lower smoke point than other vegetable oils,
and can leave residues on your cookware
However, olive oil can be used to flavour your
recipes
Correct kitchen appliances
To prevent the coating from being scratched, we
recommend using non-metallic utensils with
your Livington Copperline WonderCooker Do
not cut food on the Copperline WonderCooker
and do not use any sharp devices such as forks,
knives, mashers or whisks that can scratch the
cooking surface
TIPS
Removing stubborn residues
If food burns on the Livington Copperline
WonderCooker, a stubborn residue can be left
behind If this cannot be removed by normal
cleaning, soak the cookware in hot water with
a tablespoon of acid-free detergent for 15
minutes Allow the water to become lukewarm
before emptying and rinsing the dishes Wipe
with a plastic spatula or a non-abrasive sponge
to remove the residue Repeat the process if
necessary
Cooking with gas
When cooking over a gas hob, make sure that
the flame only touches the bottom surface of
the cookware Your cookware may otherwise
become discoloured if the flame reaches the
sides of the pot
NOTE: The Livington Copperline WonderCooker
has an extremely high thermal conductivity
Even a low setting on some gas burners could
overheat and possibly burn some foodstuffs,
such as thinly sliced onions
Deep-frying
Use an oil with a high smoke point The
smoke point is the temperature to which an
oil can be heated before it starts to smoke
and burn Rapeseed oil, sunflower oil and
vegetable oil are preferred
Never fill the WonderCooker to more than
two thirds (approx. 6 l) of its capacity with
oil, because the oil can boil up and spill over
when food is added
Make sure you have a well-fitting lid to hand,
such as the glass lid of the WonderCooker,
in case the oil should catch fire If no glass lid
is nearby, a large, flat baking tin can be used
as an alternative
Check the temperature of your oil. If you
have a food thermometer, heat the oil to
160°C for low, 175°C for moderate and 190°C
for high temperature Avoid heating the oil
to temperatures above 190°C, otherwise
it could catch fire If you don‘t have a food
thermometer, test the oil with a small piece
of bread This should turn brown in 30-40
seconds at a moderate temperature
Never place wet or frozen food in the grill
pan. The excess liquid can cause the oil to
splash, which can lead to injury Use a dish
towel to dry excessive moisture off foods
before frying or deep-frying them
Never leave cookware with hot oil
unattended. Oil can overheat and catch fire in
just a minute or two
Remove the food using a large spoon or
ladle with slits, or with heat-resistant tongs,
or something that can drain the oil if you
take the food out of the frying baskets (only
included in the deluxe set)
To be able to dispose of the oil safely, allow
it to cool completely in the WonderCooker,
pour it into a jug, and from this back into its
original bottle Never pour oil down the sink
If the oil starts to emit smoke, turn off the
