If you see S1 in the display:
uTo switch on Sabbath Mode, briefly press the

If you see S0 in the display:
uTo switch off Sabbath Mode, briefly press the
SuperCool button Fig. 2 (2).
uDeactivate setting mode: Press the On/Off button
Fig. 2 (1).

wThe temperature display shows the Sabbath Mode
symbol Fig. 2 (8) as long as Sabbath Mode is on.
wSabbath Mode switches off automatically after 120 hours
if it has not already been switched off manually.
5.4 Refrigerating food
The coldest areas are directly above the vegetable compart‐
ments and along the back wall. The warmest area is at the
top front and in the door.

uDo not overfill the pull-out compartment. It can hold max.
20 kg of food.
Note
The energy consumption increases and the cooling perform‐
ance decreases if the ventilation is inadequate.
uAlways keep the air slits of the fan free.
uStore perishable foods such as ready-to-eat meals, meat
and sausages in the coldest area in the middle. Place
butter and preserves in the top area. (see 1 Appliance at a
glance)
uUse reuseable plastic, metal, aluminium, glass containers
and foil wrap to store food.
uAlways store raw meat and fish in clean, sealed
containers on the bottom shelf of the refrigerator, to
prevent them coming into contact with or dripping onto
other foods.
uFoods that easily absorb or give off smell or taste, as
well as liquids, should be stored in sealed containers or
covered.
uDo not pack foods too closely together, as the air needs
to circulate.
5.5 Setting the temperature
The temperature depends on the following factors:
-the frequency of opening the door
-how long the door is open for
-the room temperature of the installation location
-the type, temperature and quantity of the food
Recommended temperature setting: 5 °C
The temperature is changed sequentially. Once the 2 °C
setting is reached, the sequence starts again at 9 °C.
uCall up temperature function: press the
setting button Fig. 2 (3).
wThe previously-set value will flash in the
temperature display.
uChange the temperature in 1 °C steps: Press
the setting button Fig. 2 (3) until the required
temperature is indicated in the temperature
display.
uChange temperature continually: hold down
setting button.
wDuring adjustment the value flashes on the
display.
wThe new setting is adopted approx. 5 seconds after the
last time the button was pressed and the set tempera‐
ture is again displayed. The temperature in the interior
gradually adjusts to the new value.
5.6 SuperCool
SuperCool is for maximum cooling. This option is
for very low temperatures:
-In the fridge compartment
Use SuperCool to quickly cool large amounts of
food.
When SuperCool is activated, the fan* may run. The appli‐
ance operates with maximum cooling performance, which
means that the noise of the refrigeration unit may be
temporarily louder.
The SuperCool function uses slightly more energy.
5.6.1 Switching onSuperCool
uBriefly press SuperCool button Fig. 2 (2).
wThe SuperCool Fig. 2 (10) symbol lights up in the display.
wThe cooling temperature drops to the lowest setting.
wSuperCool is on.
wSuperCool turns off automatically. The appliance
continues in energy-saving Normal mode.
5.6.2 To prematurely deactivate SuperCool
uBriefly press SuperCool button Fig. 2 (2).
wThe SuperCool symbol Fig. 2 (10) goes out in the display.
wSuperCool is deactivated.
