account created in the ManageMind CMS application for managing the devices. All devices connected to
ManageMind CMS can be accessed by logging on to the CMS Server with the corresponding Customer ID.

4.3 Configuring Alert Settings
The Alert feature warns you whenever an activity or an incident occurs during certain period of time or if
there is a video loss from a camera for extended period of time or if the camera view is either too bright
or too dark.
For example, if there is an activity on a weekend when the premises are closed or a camera has suddenly
stopped streaming then you must be alerted immediately. This feature will search for such events and
alert you through e-mails.
Figure 30. Alert Settings
4.3.1 Activity Alerts
You must choose a time frame during which the activity should be detected to alert. The application
allows defining multiple alert windows. Each alert window has a start and end time associated with it and
can be configured for specified days of a week. If any activity occurs during this alert window for the
selected cameras, the videos are recorded as alarm videos and if the e-mail settings are configured, an e-
mail is sent with the snapshot of the video.
Note: The activity alert settings do not affect your recordings. The recording continues as
configured irrespective of these settings.
Any activity that occurs within the viewing range of the camera and within the specified time frame will
be raised as an alarm. You will receive an alert message through an e-mail. Any activity detected as an
alarm will be recorded as an alarm recording. This alarm can be viewed either on List View or Timeline
View.
Chapter 4: Configuring the Application
SecureMind Surveillance Manager
Page 38
4.3.2 Alarm Snapshot
When the activity alert is configured and an activity is detected within the alert window, the snapshot for
the latest alarm will be displayed on the top left corner of the window. When you click on the snapshot
the corresponding video will be played on the Playback tab. This feature enables to view the latest
alarm without using the Search option in the Playback tab.
Figure 31. Alarm Snapshot
When a new alarm is available, it is displayed with a red border and a beep sound is played. The beep
sound is the audio indication that an alarm has triggered. After you view the video, on the Playback tab
the red border disappears.
The latest alarms for different cameras can be browsed using the Previous and Next buttons.
When you click on the Snapshot the video opens in the TimeLine view only.
4.3.3 Video Loss Alerts
Video loss occurs if there is a communication failure with the camera. This triggers an alert that will be
sent to the corresponding e-mail address.
You can also configure to report video loss if it extends beyond the specified time duration. If you have
configured the e-mail settings, a video loss alert e-mail is sent to your e-mail address.
You can configure the application to report video loss if it extends beyond the specified time duration. If
you have configured the e-mail settings, you will receive a video loss alert e-mail to your e-mail address.
4.3.4 Camera Occlusion Alert
Camera Occlusion occurs when a camera’s field of view is blinded due to which the video is either too
dark or too bright. This triggers an alert that will be sent to the corresponding e-mail address. For
information on camera occlusion settings, see the Camera Occlusion / Scene Change Settings section.
4.3.5 Scene Change Alert
Scene change alert is generated when the camera is repositioned to focus on another scene. This triggers
an alert that will be sent to the corresponding e-mail address. For information on scene change settings,
see the Camera Occlusion / Scene Change Settings section.
4.3.6 E-mail Settings
You must configure the e-mail settings so that all the alerts are sent through e-mail. For information on
e-mail settings, see the Configuring E-mail settings section.

4.6 Configuring Schedule Recording
The feature allows you to schedule continuous or activity triggered recording modes to record live video
streams from a camera during particular date and time slots. Once a schedule is added, a recording
session will start at the scheduled period as per the configured recording mode. Schedules can be
customized for each camera with configurable start date, end date, one or more days of week, start time,
and end time.
When you add a camera to the application, it is automatically associated with the Default schedule. The
Default schedule is a recording schedule which is automatically selected unless an alternative schedule is
specified. If you associate a camera with any other schedule, then the camera is disassociated from the
default schedule. The Default schedule is always valid with the Activity recording from 00:00 hours to
23:59 hours. The Default schedule cannot be edited or deleted. To view the Default schedule, refer the
Viewing, Editing, and Deleting Schedule Recording section.
Note: In case of an upgrade from a SecureMind application version without schedule support, all
the cameras will be associated with the default schedule.
If a camera is not associated with any schedule (due to expiry or deletion of a schedule), it will be
automatically associated with the default schedule.
