ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS
IMAGE STABILIZATION
Particularly in poor lighting conditions, the required shutter speed
may be too slow to achieve sharp pictures, even if the
AUTO ISO
function is active. Your Leica TL offers a function that generates
sharp pictures at very slow shutter speeds as well:
Select
the required setting in
Notes:
With this function, the camera automatically takes two pictures
in succession (the shutter noise can be heard twice). It then
combines the pictures into one using digital techniques.
Hold the camera steady until after the shutter is released the
second time.
As the function uses two exposures, it can only be used for
static subjects.
Image stabilization is available only for shutter speeds in the
range 1⁄4s bis 1⁄30s and for sensitivities up to ISO 800. The
function is not available in conjunction with serial exposures,
automatic bracketing, the self-timer function, flash operation or
the DNG data format.
If you are using a Leica SL lens with image stabilization on the
Leica TL, the image stabilization is activated and/or deactivated
with this function.
Self-Timer
You can use the self-timer to take a picture with a delay of either 2
or 12s. This is particularly useful for group photographs, where you
want to appear in the picture yourself or if you want to avoid the
picture being out of focus due to camera shake when releasing the
shutter. We recommend that the camera is placed on a tripod.
Setting:
Select
the required setting in
If the
function is assigned to the left setting dial, it can be
used to directly select the required option.
If the self timer is turned on, or is displayed.
Operation:
Press the shutter release all the way down to take the picture
The progress is indicated by the flashing self timer LED:
12s delay time: slowly at first, faster for the last 2s
2s delay time: As described above for the last 2s
The remaining time is counted down in the monitor.
Notes:
A delay time in progress can be restarted at any time by press-
ing the shutter button again.
The only way to cancel a delay time in progress is to turn off the
camera.
It is only ever possible to take single pictures when the self-timer
is active, i.e. picture series and automatic bracketing cannot be
combined with self-timer mode.
In self-timer mode, the focus and exposure are not set when the
shutter button reaches its pressure point, but immediately
before the picture is taken.
