First, check that t he wind-cups and the w ind-vane can rotate fre ely
before fixing t he unit. For correct and acc urate readings, it is impo rtant
to mount the sensor so th at the front (marked E) is po inting in East-
West direction. The w ind sensor should now be mounted using the
screw or cable tie provide d onto a solid wall/ pa nel mast or mast to
allow the wind to travel around the s ensor unhindered from all d irections
(ideal mast size should be from d iameter 0.62” to 1.29” (16mm to
33mm). Do not over tighte n.
Once the wind sens or is fixed onto the mast, con nect the cable to the
corresponding thermo -hygro sensor socket so that o perating power
supply can be rec eived and data can be transmi tted to the base station.
Secure cord from blow ing. Do not use staples. Using PVC pipe or metal
as a mast may cause static. Wood is recommended.
The Rain Sensor
For best results, the rain s ensor should be securely mo unted onto a
horizontal surface about 39.37” (1 meter) above t he ground (or higher)
and in an open area aw ay from trees or other covering s where rainfall
may be reduced causing in accurate readings.
When securing i nto place, check that rain excess will not collect and
store at the bas e of the unit but can flow out between the base and t he
mounting surface (test by pouring clean wat er).
After mounting the rain sens or and placing battery, the rain s ensor is
now operable. For testing purposes, very slowly pour a small amount of
clean water into t he rain sensor funnel. T he water will act as rain fall and
will be receive d and displayed at the base station i.e. when t he reading
interval is reache d.
Note:
You will need to b e able to access your rain gauge pe riodically t o clean
debris and possible i nsect nests. Please keep t his in mind when
mounting.

Phone cable and connec tions have much mo re resistance than our
extension cable and is not recommended for use . Using phone
cable/connectio n may damage your s ensors.
Note:
Using extension c ables will shorten bat tery life.
Warning:
Never cut, splic e, shorten or modify your sens or cables or extensi on
cables. Doing so may da mage your sensors and w ill Void you Warranty .
CARE AND MAINT ENA NCE:
• Extreme temperatures, vibration and shock sho uld be avoided as
these may cause damage t o the unit and give inacc urate
forecasts and readings.
• Precautions shall be tak en when handling the b atteries. Injuries,
burns, or property damage may be resulted i f the batteries are in
contact with conduct ing materials, heat, corrosive materials or
explosives. T he batteries s hall be taken out from the unit before
the product is to be st ored for a long period of time.
• Immediately remove all low powere d batteries to avoid leak age
and damage. Repla ce only with new b atteries of the
recommended type.
• When cleani ng the display and casings, use a soft damp cloth
only. Do not use solvent s or scouring agents as they may mark
the LCD and casings.
• Do not submerge the un it in water.
• Special care shall be taken when handling a damag ed LCD
display. The liquid crysta ls can be harmful to use r's health.
• Do not make any repa ir attempts to the unit. R eturn them to their
original point of pu rchase for repair by a qualified engineer.
Opening and tampering with the unit may i nvalidate their
guarantee.
• Never touch the expos ed electronic circ uit of the device as there
is a danger of electric s hock should it beco me exposed.
• Do not expose the unit s to extreme and sudden t emperature
changes, this may lead to rapid changes in fore casts and
readings and thereby reduce their accuracy.
