Using the Printer
For details on how to determine the print quality, see the table below.
Print quality Resolution (dpi) Print speed Description
Quick Colour 600 × 600 4.7 ppm This mode provides fastest full
colour printing. Since the printer
uses only CMY toners, it is not
suitable for documents including
large amount of black text. This
mode is not available when the
Colour mode is Monochrome.
Normal 600 × 600 Colour: 3.5 ppm, This mode covers a wide range of
Monochrome: generic colour printing.
14 ppm
Fine 1200 × 1200 Colour: 1.75 This mode requires a minimum
ppm, memory of 16 MB (otherwise, the
Monochrome: printer prints in Normal mode).
7 ppm The print quality is the highest
and near photographic quality.
This mode is disabled in HP
PCL5C emulation.
Presentation 600 × 600 Colour: 1.75 This mode is not selectable on the
ppm, front control panel. The printer
Monochrome: automatically selects this mode
7 ppm when the paper type of the cur-
