Decalcifying:
1. Thoroughly wash the espresso maker as described above.
2. Fill the lower part of the espresso maker up to the rim with a decalcifier solution.
3. Slot the filter insert into the lower part of the espresso maker so that this can also be decalcified.
4. Remove the sieve from the upper part and place it in a separate receptacle containing the solution you are
using.
5. Leave everything to stand for as long as it takes for the lime scale to be completely removed.
6. Pour off part of the solution found in the lower part so that the valve is no longer under water. Then
re-assemble your espresso maker as prescribed and (without adding any coffee powder) bring the solution
in the espresso maker to the boil once or twice.
7. Afterwards, thoroughly clean the espresso maker once again as described above.
It is vital that the safety valve especially should come into contact with the decalcifying agent for several
minutes on end. The safety valve must be free of lime scale for it to work properly.
