4) The appliance has not delivered any coffee.
An incident has been detected during the coffee making cycle.
The appliance is reset automatically and is ready for a new cycle.
5) You have used ground coffee instead of coffee beans.
Use your vacuum cleaner to collect the ground coffee from the
bean container.
6) Water runs from the coffee nozzles when the machine stops.
This is normal. It is an automatic rinsing process to clean the
coffee nozzles and ensure that they don’t block.
STEAM AND MILK
1) The milk ow of your machine appears to be partially or completely
blocked.
Clean the “One Touch Cappuccino” block. See the Quick Start
Guide - DEEP MANUAL CLEANING OF THE MILK DISTRIBUTION
SYSTEM - 5 MIN.
2) No steam comes out.
a. When using a steam cycle for the rst time, if no steam comes
out correctly:
Check that the steam outlet is not blocked. See above: “The steam
outlet on your machine appears to be partially or completely
blocked”.
Perform the following process once only:
Empty the water tank and temporarily remove the Claris Aqua
Filter System cartridge. Fill the tank with mineral water high in
calcium (>100 mg/L) and run successive frothy milk programs
with water (5 to 10 cycles) in a container until a continuous jet of
steam is obtained. Put the cartridge back in the tank.
b. The steam nozzle has already worked:
Check that the steam outlet is not blocked. See above: “The steam
outlet on your machine appears to be partially or completely
blocked”.
If, after completing the above steps, there is still no steam, please
contact your repair centre.
3) Steam is escaping from the grid of the drip tray.
Depending on the type of preparation, steam may escape from
the grid of the drip tray.
4) Steam appears under the lid of the coffee bean container.
Check that the cleaning tablet hatch located under the lid is
properly closed.
MAINTENANCE
1) The machine does not request descaling.
The descaling cycle is requested once a large number of milky
or hot water drinks have been prepared. If you only drink coffee,
descaling will not be required often.
2) Some grounds are in the drip tray.
A small amount of ground coffee can get into the drip tray. The
machine is designed to evacuate any excess ground coffee so
that the percolation area stays clean.
3) The on-screen warning stays on after you have emptied the coffee
grounds tray.
Reinstall the coffee grounds tray.
4)
After lling the water tank, the intuitive on-screen warning stays on.
Check the correct positioning of the tank in the appliance. The
black oat at the bottom of the tank must move freely. Check the
oat and release if necessary.
DRINKS
1) The coffee is owing too slowly.
Turn the “Grinding neness” button to the right to obtain a coarser
ground coffee (this may depend on the type of coffee used).
Carry out one or more coffee rinsing cycles.
Change the Claris Aqua Filter System cartridge.
2) The coffee is too light or not full-bodied enough.
Check that the bean container contains coffee and that it is
moving down correctly.
Avoid the use of oily, caramelised or avoured coffees which may
not be captured properly.
Decrease the volume of the preparation and increase the strength
using the “Coffee strength” function. Turn the “Grinding neness”
button to obtain a ner ground coffee. Make your drink in two
cycles using the 2-cup function.
3) The espresso or the coffee is not hot enough.
Increase the temperature of the coffee in the machine’s settings.
Heat the cup by rinsing with hot water before starting to prepare
the drink.
Rinse the coffee circuit before preparing your coffee; a coffee
rinse function can be set to run when the appliance is switched
on, in “Settings / Auto rinse”.
