Approx. weight with battery 1.9 kg
Before taking the appliance into operation, read the
following important instructions; we urgently advise
that they be heeded:
Ȝ The NC batteries of the multifunction saw are not
charged, and must therefore be charged prior to in-
itial operation.
Ȝ For charging, use only a charger recommended by
the manufacturer and never use the supplied
charger to charge other electrical devices.
Ȝ The battery-powered multifunction saw develops its
maximum performance after approx. five dis-
charge/charge cycles.
Ȝ Before connecting the charger to the mains, check
whether your mains supply voltage corresponds
with the mains voltage specified on the rating plate
of the charger.
Ȝ Maximum NC battery service life can be obtained
by charging them in ambient temperatures between
+5 °C and +45 °C (max.).
Ȝ If the battery temperature is outside the permissible
range (approx. –5 °C to +45 °C), the charging time
will be prolonged by the necessary battery cooling-
off or heating-up time.
Ȝ The batteries heat up when under severe strain. Be-
fore charging, allow the batteries to cool down to
room temperature or give them a 10-minute cool-
ing-off period.
Ȝ Important! Batteries run down even when the appli-
ance is not in use. For this reason, re-charge the
batteries at regular intervals. .
Preferred method: Connect the battery to the
charger which is connected ready for service to the
mains; the charger will switch over to floating
operation following completion of charging. This
method is particularly advantageous for maintain-
ing the batteries and ensuring optimum function.
Ȝ Never lay down the battery-powered multifunction
saw in a place where it is exposed to severe insola-
tion.
Safety notes
Ȝ Keep the battery-powered multifunction saw and
charger out of the reach of children.
Ȝ Protect the battery-powered multifunction saw and
charger from rain. Do not operate these appliances
in a wet or damp environment.
Ȝ Before sawing into walls, check the latter for con-
cealed power, water and gas lines with the aid of a
line detector.
Ȝ Prevent the cables of the charger from contact with
sharp edges. Damaged cables must be submitted
immediately to our service centres for replacement.
Ȝ Unusable batteries must never be burned! Explo-
sion hazard!
Ȝ Obsolete batteries should not be discarded with
general refuse. Our service department will dispose
of them for you.
Ȝ A low quantity of battery fluid may escape when the
battery is operating under severe conditions. This
escape of fluid does not indicate a fault. Proceed as
follows if the housing leaks in such a situation and
battery fluid comes into contact with the skin:
1. Wash affected area of skin with water and soap.
2. Neutralize battery fluid with vinegar or lemon
juice.
3. If battery fluid penetrates the eye, rinse eye with
clear water for 10 minutes at least, then consult a
doctor immediately.
Service instructions
If the machine is subjected to heavy-duty usage over a
longer period of time, we recommend that both machine
and charger be sent to our service department for a basic
inspection from time to time. This will save you unneces-
sary repair costs and increase the service life of your
appliance.
Charging the batteries
1. Remove battery from the handle by simultaneously pres-
sing the locking device.
2. Make sure that the mains voltage corresponds to the
voltage stated on the name plate of the charger.
Connect the charger to the mains.
3. Insert the charger plug into the charging socket of the
battery. The charging time is max. 4 hours with flat bat-
teries and correspondingly shorter when there is a resi-
dual charge. The charger enables the charging time to
be exceeded by several hours without damage to the
batteries. The charger may produce a buzzing noise
and/or become warm to the touch. This is fully normal
and is not a cause for concern.
If the batteries cannot be charged correctly:
1. Make sure the socket is providing voltage.
2. Make sure the charging points provide good contact.
3. If charging is still not possible, please send the battery
screwdriver along with charger to the nearest service
station.
Always recharge the batteries in due time. This will
ensure long service life. The batteries should always
be recharged if you notice a reduction in power produ-
ced.
Mains cable
In the case of damage to the mains cable of the charger,
please send the appliance to our service agencies. Special
tools are required for the repair and the mains cable must
be replaced by a special cable.
To prolong the battery life, always re-charge batteries in
good time. This is particularly necessary if you notice that
the performance of the appliance is declining.
Clamping and unclamping the saw blades
The advantage of the clamping system is that saw blade
can be changed without tools. First push back the slide
hood (3). Turn the tension lever (4) to open the quick-
change clamping system. The saw blade (7) can be
inserted. Ensure it is pushed back up to the limit stop. Re-
lease the tension lever (4), then press the saw blade in the
slide direction. This pressure causes the blade to be fixed
