• The automatic switch-off function will automatically switch off the appliance as
soon as the boiling temperature has been reached, provided that you have thor-
oughly closed the lid. Otherwise boiling water could spill.
• Your kettle also features a boil-dry cut-out, which will switch off the kettle, should
it accidentally be operated without water. In the event of such a safety cut-out
unplug the appliance immediately and let it cool down for approx. 10 minutes.
Afterwards, your kettle is ready for use again.
• Only use the appliance with the base provided.
Before First Use
• Remove all packaging material and check whether the appliance is complete.
• Fully unwind the power cord and make sure that the power cord underneath
the appliance is clamped in the cable guide (11).
• Place the appliance on a even and heat resistant surface. Do not place it on top
of a metal surface.
• Connect the appliance to a properly installed wall socket and boil 4-5 kettles of
water using fresh water with each boiling cycle. Do not use this water but pour
it away.
Warning: Plastic bags are a danger to toddlers and babies, therefore keep them
away to avoid suffocation.
Operation
Your appliance is fi tted (inside the spout) with a removable scale fi lter that prevents
scale particles ending up in your beverage.
1. Open the lid (2) by pressing the lid opening button (4) and hold the kettle (3) in an
upright position to fi ll it with water. Make sure to fi ll in the MIN amount of water
(0.5L) to avoid overheating.
Info: The kettle (3) can also be fi lled with water when the lid is closed by fi lling it
through the spout (1).
2. Close the lid (2) and make sure it is properly closed.
3. Place the kettle (3) onto the base (9) and make sure it properly fi ts onto the con-
tact unit.
4. Connect it to the mains and switch on the water kettle by pressing the On/Off
button (6) which is located at the lower end of the handle (5). The indicator light
(7) lights up.
5. As soon as the water boils the appliance switches off automatically provided that
you have thoroughly closed the lid (2). Otherwise boiling water could spill. The
indicator light (7) switches off as well.
6. Lift the kettle (3) off the base (9). The water is now ready for use.
