You can stop the boiling process any time by pushing the On/Off button (5) and
setting the button to 0-positon.
Attention: The boiling process is not stopped by only removing the unit from the
power base. The unit must properly be switched off (0-position). Otherwise, once
put back onto the base the unit will resume the boiling process as the switch is still
set to I-position (ON).
Water left over from a previous boiling cycle can be re-used in the next boiling cycle.
However, always make sure that the water level is not too low.
Always unplug the appliance after use.
Dry-boil cut-out
Your kettle is equipped with a boil-dry cut-out, which will switch off the kettle auto-
matically, should it accidentally be operated without water or by not observing the
Minimum water level. In the event of such a safety cut-out unplug the appliance
immediately and let it cool down for approx. 10 minutes. Afterwards, your kettle is
ready for use again
Cleaning and Care
Before cleaning, always switch off the appliance and disconnect it from the
mains. Let it completely cool down.
Never immerse the appliance in water. Danger! Electric Shock!
Clean the body of the appliance with a moistened soft cloth.
Do not use any aggressive cleaning agents and/or other hard objects to clean the
appliance.
Open the lid (4) and remove the fi lter. Clean it under running tap water, if necessary,
with a soft nylon brush. Dry it afterwards and reinsert the fi lter into the spout.
Descaling
Descale your appliance in regular intervals (approx. every 3 - 6 months), depending
on the frequency of use and the local water quality.
Never use any sharp, pointed or metal objects to remove limescale built up in the
kettle.
To remove limescale, use a common gentle descaler, which is suitable for your
appliance.
After descaling, always boil 4-5 kettles of water, which you do not use but pour
away. Use fresh water with each boiling cycle. This procedure is necessary to re-
move any descaler residues in the kettle.
Note: Descaler mixtures should not be poured down enamel coated sinks.
