Conguring the MIDI “LOCAL” setting when connected to an external MIDI
sequencer or computer
TheEchoBackseingofyourexternalMIDIsequencerorcomputersystemallows
theMIDInotesandothermessagesbeingplayedbytheprologuetobeinstantly
passedalongtoanyotherMIDIequipment,includingsynthesizers,tonegenerators.
However,thissameEchoBackfunctioncancausetheprologuetodoubletrigger:
oncewhenyouplaythenote,andasecondtimeastheexternalMIDIsequencerof
computer system sends the note back to the prologue.
Topreventthisfromhappening,youcansimplydisabletheLOCALconnectionbe-
tween the prologue keyboard and the tone generating circuitry.

EDITmode.

Synchronizing the arpeggiator playback
Usethe“ClockSource”(p.59)seingonbuon5inGLOBALEDITmodetoset
whether the prologue will be the master (the device controlling the synchronization)
or the slave (the device being controlled) when the arpeggiator is played.

Using the prologue as the master to slave external MIDI devices
ConnecttheMIDIOUTconnectoroftheprologuetotheMIDIINconnectoronyour
externalMIDIdevice(s).
IntheGLOBALEDITmode,settheClockSourceoftheprologueto“Internal”,and
conguretheexternalMIDIdevicetoreceiveclockdataviaMIDI.Theprologuewill
actasthemaster,andthetempothatissetusingtheTEMPObuonontheprologue
willbesentasMIDItimingclockdatatooperatetheexternalMIDIdevice(sequenc-
ers, rhythm machines, and so on).
