Connecting and calibrating the Damper pedal
Programming the Damper pedal
Quick Guide
If you want to play Piano, you will want to connect a Damper pedal to sustain notes while playing.
You can connect a Korg PS1, PS3 or DS1H to the DAMPER connector on the back of the instrument.
The difference between the PS1/PS3 footswitch, and a dedicated Damper pedal like the DS1H, is that
this latter also supports all the nuances of half-pedalling; you can experiment how it works by gradu-
ally pressing it down, and gradually depressing it up while playing the Grand Piano RX Sound.
Programming the Damper pedal
Calibrating the Damper pedal will let you use the full run of the pedal, without “dead spots. Also, this
might be the only way to connect a third-party Damper pedal that seems to work in reverse, sustain-
ing the notes when they are not pressed!
1 Connect the Damper pedal to the DAMPER connector on the back of the instrument.
2 Press the GLOBAL button to access the Global mode.
Global mode is where you can set some global parameters, like this one, the Master Tuning or
the Date & Time. These settings are not tied to any specific operative mode, so they are pro-
grammed in these separate pages.
3 Touch the Controllers button to access the Controllers section of the Global mode.
If you have not yet chosen a different page, the “Hand Controller” page will appear (being the
first one in the Controllers section).
