ADVANTIX Film

ATTACHING THE STRAP

1. Insert the shorter looped end of the

strap behind the STRAP POST (22).

2. Thread the longer end of the strap

through the shorter loop.

3. Pull the strap tight.

LOADING THE BATTERY

This camera uses one 3-volt lithium

KODAK K123LA (or equivalent) Battery

that supplies power for all camera

operations.

1. Open the

old battery,

2. Insert the

battery into

the chamber

as shown.

3. Snap the

battery door

closed.

• After you

load a new

battery into the camera, you will

need to reset the date and time.

Low-battery indicator

It’s time to replace the battery when—

• the BATTERY SYMBOL (26) “blinks”

the LCD PANEL (5)

• none of the indicators appears on the

LCD panel and the SHUTTER

(16) cannot be released.

Battery tips

• Remember to keep a spare battery

with you at all times.

• Read and follow all warnings and

instructions supplied by the battery

manufacturer.

• Keep batteries away from children.

• Do not try to take apart, recharge or

short circuit the battery, or subject it to

high temperature or fire.

• Store batteries in their original

packaging prior to use.

Power shut-off

To save battery power, the camera will

automatically go into a sleep mode (lens

will return to the wide-angle position and

the LCD panel will display just the date/

time) if it is not operated for more than

3 minutes. You can press any of the

control buttons to awaken the camera.

LOADING THE FILM

You can load film into the camera with

the camera ON or OFF.

1. Move the

FILM-DOOR

• The film

door will

open only

when the film chamber is empty or

the film in the camera is completely

rewound into the film cassette.

2. Insert the film cassette completely

into the FILM CHAMBER (23).

• Make

sure the

(#1 position) for a new cassette.

• Do not force the film cassette into

the film chamber.

3. Close the film door to start the auto-

film advance. The FRAME COUNTER (30)

on the LCD PANEL (5) will show the

number of frames remaining on the

film cassette.

• After you close the safety-interlocked

film door, you cannot open the door

until the film is completely rewound

into the film cassette.

TAKING PICTURES

You can take Classic (C), Group/

HDTV (H)

and Panoramic (P) pictures on the same

film cassette. Your photo-processing cost

may be based on the format size(s) that

you use to expose the film.

1. Move the ON/

Using the focus lock

This camera automatically focuses on

whatever is within the auto-focus (AF)

circle of the viewfinder eyepiece. To get a

sharp picture, make sure the AF circle is

on your main subject. If you want to take

a picture with the subject positioned

outside of the AF circle, use the focus

lock as follows:

1. Place the AF circle on the subject that

you want focused in the picture.

2. Partially depress and hold the

SHUTTER BUTTON (16) to lock the

focus position.

3. While still partially depressing the

shutter button, move the camera until

your subject is where you want it within

the VIEWFINDER EYEPIECE (19).

4. Press the shutter button completely

down to take the picture.

Using the zoom lens

This camera has a motorized zoom lens

that lets you select the ideal lens-focal

length for taking pictures. When you turn

the camera on, it is initially set to the

wide-angle position.

1. Move the ON/OFF SWITCH (20) to the

“ON” position to turn the camera on

and to raise the FLASH (9).

2. Move the

3. Frame your subject within the

• The lens barrel will automatically

return to the wide-mode position after

approximately 3 minutes.

Tips for better pictures

• Move close enough to your subject so

it fills the viewfinder but not closer than

2 ft (0.6 m).

• Take pictures at the subject’s level.

Kneel down to take pictures of children

and pets.

• Hold your camera vertically to capture

tall, narrow subjects, such as a

waterfall, skyscraper, or a single

person.

• Add interest to your picture by framing it

with a tree branch, a window, or even

the rails of a fence.

• Keep the sun behind you. This provides

the best subject illumination.

TAKING FLASH PICTURES

In dim light, such as indoors or outdoors

in heavy shade, or on dark overcast days,

you need flash. Your camera features an

automatic flash that fires when you need

it. The pop-up flash helps to minimize red

eyes in flash pictures and to prevent hand

obstruction in front of the lens.

1. Move the ON/OFF SWITCH (20) to the

“ON” position to turn the camera on

and to raise the FLASH (9).

• The FLASH/CAMERA-READY LAMP (18)

“blinks” when the flash is not ready.

2. Frame your subject within the

VIEWFINDER EYEPIECE (19).

3. Partially depress the SHUTTER

BUTTON

(16). When the FLASH/CAMERA-

READY LAMP (18) glows green, fully

depress the shutter button to take

the picture.

4. Keep the subject

within the

distance range

for the speed of

film in your

camera (see

Flash-to-subject

distance). Don’t

take pictures beyond the maximum

distance or your pictures will be dark.

SELECTING THE FLASH AND

INFINITY-FOCUS MODES

Besides the auto-flash mode with red-

eye reduction, you can select

auto-flash without red-eye reduction,

fill flash, off-flash, infinity-focus, and

night-view modes.

Press the FLASH-

MODE BUTTON (7)

until the desired

indicator appears

on the LCD

PANEL

(5).

The flash modes will remain selected

after you take the picture. To change

the flash-mode selection, press the

flash-mode button, or turn the camera

off then back on to return to the flash

default mode.

Red-eye reduction

Some people’s eyes (and some pets’) can

reflect flash with a red glow. This camera

features automatic flash with red-eye

reduction which is the intitial default setting

for this camera. With the help of the pop-up

flash and by following the instructions

below, you can minimize red eyes in flash

or fill-flash pictures.

1. Move the ON/OFF SWITCH (20) to the “ON”

position to turn the camera on and to

raise the FLASH (9).

2. Press the FLASH-MODE BUTTON (7)

repeatedly until the auto flash with RED-

EYE-REDUCTION INDICATOR (29) appears

on the LCD PANEL (5).

• Disregard step 2 if the default setting is

already set for red-eye reduction.

3. Frame your subject within the VIEWFINDER

EYEPIECE

(19).

4. Have your subject look directly at the

RED-EYE-REDUCTION LAMP (14).

5. Partially depress the

SHUTTER

BUTTON

(16).

When the FLASH/CAMERA-READY LAMP (18)

glows green, fully depress the shutter

button to take the picture.

Auto flash without red-eye

reduction

Use this mode for taking pictures

without people.

You can change the default setting to

auto flash without red-eye reduction by

following the steps below:

1. Move the ON/OFF SWITCH (20) to the

“ON” position to turn the camera on

and to raise the FLASH (9).

2. Press the FLASH-MODE BUTTON (7)

repeatedly until the AUTO-FLASH

INDICATOR

(36) appears on the

LCD PANEL (5).

3. Frame your subject within the

VIEWFINDER EYEPIECE (19).

4. Partially depress the SHUTTER

BUTTON

(16). When the FLASH/CAMERA-

READY LAMP (18) glows green, fully

depress the shutter button to take

the picture.

• The camera will now default to the

auto-flash mode without red-eye

reduction.

Fill flash

When bright light indoors or outdoors

comes from behind the subject (backlight-

ing), dark shadows (especially on faces)

may occur. Use fill flash to lighten

these shadows.

1. Move the ON/OFF SWITCH (20) to the

“ON” position to turn the camera on

and to raise the FLASH (9).

2. Press the FLASH-MODE BUTTON (7)

repeatedly until the FILL-FLASH

INDICATOR

(32) appears on the LCD

PANEL

(5).

3. Frame your subject within the

VIEWFINDER EYEPIECE (19).

4. Partially depress the SHUTTER

(16). When the FLASH/CAMERA-

Off flash

When you do not want to use the flash,

especially indoors where flash is

prohibited, such as in theaters and

museums, or when you want to take

twilight scenes or distant subjects that are

beyond the flash range, or capture the

ambiance of existing light, use the off-

flash feature. Use a tripod or place the

camera on another firm support, and use

high-speed film because the shutter

speed at night will most likely be slow.

1. Move the ON/OFF SWITCH (20) to the

“ON” position to turn the camera on

and to raise the FLASH (9).

2. Press the FLASH-MODE BUTTON (7)

repeatedly until the OFF-FLASH

INDICATOR

(35) appears on the

LCD PANEL (5).

3. Frame your subject within the

VIEWFINDER EYEPIECE (19).

4. Partially depress the SHUTTER

BUTTON

(16). When the FLASH/CAMERA-

READY LAMP (18) glows green, fully

depress the shutter button to take

the picture.

Infinity focus

Capture sharp, distant scenery at any

zoom position (for daylight and outdoor

use only).

1. Move the ON/OFF SWITCH (20) to the

“ON” position to turn the camera on

and to raise the FLASH (9).

2. Press the FLASH-MODE BUTTON (7)

repeatedly until the INFINITY-FOCUS

INDICATOR

(33) appears on the LCD

PANEL

(5).

3. Frame your subject within the

VIEWFINDER EYEPIECE (19).

4. Partially depress the SHUTTER

BUTTON

(16). When the FLASH/CAMERA-

READY LAMP (18) glows green, fully

depress the shutter button to take

the picture.

USING THE SELF-TIMER

Use this feature to include yourself

in pictures.

1. Use the TRIPOD SOCKET (25) to attach

the camera to a tripod or place it on

another firm support.

2. Move the ON/OFF SWITCH (20) to the

“ON” position to turn the camera on

and to raise the FLASH (9).

3. Press the SELF-TIMER BUTTON (6).

4. Frame your picture in the VIEWFINDER

EYEPIECE

(19).

5. Press the SHUTTER BUTTON (16). The

SELF-TIMER LAMP (13) on the front of

the camera will blink and then glow

during the last two seconds of

countdown.

• To cancel the self-timer selection

before the shutter releases, turn the

camera off.

• The self-timer automatically turns off

after the shutter releases and returns

to the auto-flash start position.

Night-view

In this mode, the camera balances the

flash and existing light exposure so you

can take beautiful pictures of people at

sunset or at night. Use a tripod or place

the camera on another firm support, and

use high-speed film because the shutter

speed at night will most likely be slow.

1. Move the ON/OFF SWITCH (20) to the

“ON” position to turn the camera on

and to raise the FLASH (9).

2. Press the FLASH-MODE BUTTON (7)

repeatedly until the NIGHT-VIEW

INDICATOR

(28) appears on the LCD

PANEL

(5).

3. Frame your subject within the

VIEWFINDER EYEPIECE (19).

4. Partially depress the SHUTTER

BUTTON

(16). When the FLASH/CAMERA-

READY LAMP (18) glows green, fully

depress the shutter button to take

the picture.

UNLOADING THE FILM

Automatic rewind

The camera automatically rewinds the film

into the cassette after the last exposure.

1. Wait for the film to completely rewind

into the film cassette.

• When the motor stops running, the

FRAME COUNTER (30) will indicate “0.”

2. Push the FILM-DOOR LATCH (21) up.

• The motor will run for a brief time,

then the film door will open.

3. Remove the film cassette from the

camera and reload with new KODAK

ADVANTIX Film.

• The FSI on the fully-exposed film

cassette will be at ✖ (#3 position) and

the LCD panel will display “E.”

DATE AND TIME IMPRINTING

Traditional cameras print date and/or

time information directly onto the film.

Your camera uses the film’s magnetic

data-recording capability to record date

and time information which your

photofinisher can imprint on the back of

your photographs. This camera has a

quartz clock and automatic calendar

through the year 2099. You can record

the date in a choice of three date

formats (year/month/day, month/day/

year or day/month/year) and one time

format (hour/minute).

Setting the date and time

1. Press the SELECT BUTTON (2)

repeatedly to

scroll and

select

desired date

format.

2. Press the

select button

again and

hold the button for approximately 2

seconds until the first number(s) of

CARING FOR YOUR CAMERA

1. Protect the camera from dust,

moisture, sudden impact, and

excessive heat.

CAUTION: Do not use solvents or

harsh or abrasive cleaners on the

camera body.

2. If the lens appears dirty, breathe on it

to form a mist and wipe the surface

gently with a soft, lintless cloth or

camera lens-cleaning tissue. Never

wipe a dry lens.

CAUTION: Do not use solvents or

solutions not designed for cleaning

camera lenses. Do not use chemically

treated tissues intended for cleaning

eye glasses.

3. Remove the battery when you store

the camera for an extended time.

CAUTION: To prevent possible

damage and electrical shock, do not

attempt to disassemble or repair the

camera or flash unit by yourself.

Manual rewind

If you don’t want to take pictures on the

entire film, you can manually activate the

automatic rewind.

1. Gently press the FILM-REWIND

BUTTON

(4) by using a pointed object to

start the auto-film rewind.

2. Follow steps 1–3 from Automatic

Rewind.

NOTE: You cannot reload partially

exposed film into this camera for

continuous picture-taking.

Choix de trois formats

• Vous avez le choix de trois formats

différents : classique (C), groupe (H) ou

panoramique (P), pour chacune des

photos d’une même cassette de film. Le

cadre affiché dans le viseur se modifie

en fonction du format sélectionné.

Impression de la date et de l’heure

• Vous pouvez choisir de faire imprimer la

date et l’heure au dos de vos photos.

traitement photo pour connaître les

services offerts.

Protection contre la double

exposition

• Vous ne courez aucun risque d’exposer

accidentellement votre film une

seconde fois. Votre appareil vérifie

l’indicateur de l’état du film sur la

cassette afin de prévenir tout risque de

réexposition.

Échange d’information pour

l’amélioration de la qualité de

l’image

• Votre appareil est doté de la fonction

d’échange d’information magnétique,

qui permet d’enregistrer sur la cassette

même des renseignements sur les

conditions d’éclairage et sur

l’exposition. Le laboratoire de traitement

peut ainsi corriger la couleur ou régler

l’exposition afin que vos photos soient

les plus réussies possible.

Dispositif de verrouillage du

compartiment du film

• Le dispositif de verrouillage du

compartiment du film empêche

l’ouverture du couvercle avant que le

film ne soit complètement rembobiné

dans la cassette.

Indicateur de l’état du film

Un voyant passe d’un symbole à l’autre

pour indiquer l’état du film à l’intérieur de

la cassette.

Ce symbole sur l’emballage de film vous garantit qu’il est

compatible avec cet appareil-photo.

Assurez-vous que le laboratoire de traitement auquel

vous confiez vos films affiche ce symbole; vous

profiterez ainsi de toutes les caractéristiques du système

Advanced Photo System.

FIXATION DE LA DRAGONNE

1. Enfilez d’abord la petite boucle de la

dragonne sous la TIGE DE LA

DRAGONNE

(22).

2. Glissez ensuite la longue boucle dans

la petite.

3. Tirez fermement.

INSTALLATION DE LA PILE

Cet appareil-photo utilise 1 Pile au

lithium KODAK K123LA (ou l’équivalent)

qui fournit l’alimentation nécessaire à

toutes les fonctions de l’appareil.

1. Ouvrez le

COUVERCLE DU

COMPARTIMENT

LA PILE (17).

• Avant de

retirer la pile,

veuillez

mettre

l’appareil-photo hors tension.

2. Insérez la pile

dans le

compartiment

de la façon

illustrée.

3. Refermez bien

la porte du

compartiment

de la pile.

• Après avoir chargé une nouvelle

pile, vous devez régler la date et

l’heure de nouveau.

Indicateur de pile faible

Il faut remplacer la pile lorsque

• le SYMBOLE DE LA PILE (26) clignote sur

le PANNEAU ACL (5)

• aucun des indicateurs n’apparaît sur le

panneau ACL et que le

DÉCLENCHEUR (16) ne peut être

enclenché.

Conseils au sujet des piles

• Ayez toujours des piles de rechange

avec vous.

• Lisez le mode d’emploi et observez les

mises en garde fournies par le fabricant

des piles.

• Gardez les piles hors de la portée des

enfants.

• N’essayez pas de démonter, de

recharger ou de court-circuiter les piles,

ou de les exposer à des températures

élevées ou aux flammes.

• Conservez les piles dans leur

emballage d’origine jusqu’à ce que

vous les utilisiez.

Arrêt automatique

Cet appareil-photo se met

automatiquement en mode veille

(l’objectif revient en position grand-

angulaire et le panneau ACL affiche

seulement la date et l’heure) après plus

de 3 minutes d’inactivité pour préserver

l’énergie de la pile. Pour réactiver

l’appareil, il suffit d’appuyer sur n’importe

quel bouton de contrôle.

CHARGEMENT DU FILM

Vous pouvez charger le film dans

l’appareil-photo, que ce dernier soit

• Assurez-

l’indicateur

de l’état du

film sur la

• N’exercez pas de pression

excessive pour insérer la cassette

dans le compartiment du film

3. Refermez le couvercle du

compartiment du film pour déclencher

le mécanisme d’avance automatique

du film. Le COMPTEUR DE POSES (30)

sur le PANNEAU ACL (5) affichera le

nombre de poses restantes.

• Une fois que vous avez refermé le

couvercle du compartiment du film

avec verrouillage de sécurité, il ne

pourra être rouvert que lorsque le

film sera complètement rembobiné

dans la cassette de film.

Vous pouvez prendre des photos de

formats classique (C), groupe/HDTV (H)*

et panoramique (P) sur la même cassette

de film. Vos frais de traitement photo

peuvent varier en fonction des formats

choisis pour le

Mémorisation de la mise au point

L’appareil-photo effectue automatiquement la

mise au point sur tout ce qui se trouve à

l’intérieur du cercle de mise au point

automatique (AF) de l’oculaire du viseur. Pour

obtenir une photo bien nette, assurez-vous

d’orienter le cercle de mise au point sur votre

sujet principal. Si vous désirez que le sujet

principal de la photo soit à l’extérieur du cercle

de mise au point, utilisez la fonction de

mémorisation comme suit :

1. Centrez votre sujet principal à l’intérieur du

cercle de mise au point.

Doté d’un objectif zoom motorisé, cet

appareil-photo vous permet de choisir la

longueur focale de l’objectif convenant le

mieux à la situation de prise de vue.

Lorsque vous mettez l’appareil sous

tension, la longueur focale est réglée par

défaut en position grand-angulaire.

soulever le FLASH (9).

Conseils pour prendre de

meilleures photos

• Approchez-vous suffisamment de votre

sujet pour qu’il remplisse bien le viseur,

sans toutefois vous placer à moins de

0,6 m (2 pi).

• Placez-vous au même niveau que

votre sujet. Quand vous photographiez

des enfants ou des animaux,

agenouillez-vous.

• Tenez votre appareil à la verticale pour

mettre en valeur les sujets de forme

allongée, par exemple les chutes d’eau,

les gratte-ciel ou une personne seule.

• Donnez de la dimension à vos photos

en les encadrant avec une branche

d’arbre, une fenêtre ou encore, avec les

traverses d’une clôture.

• Placez-vous dos au soleil afin d’offrir le

meilleur éclairage possible à

votre sujet.

AU FLASH

Dans des conditions de lumière faible, à

l’intérieur, ou à l’extérieur dans des lieux

ombragés ou par temps couvert, il vous

faut utiliser un flash. Votre appareil-photo

est doté d’un flash automatique qui

s’actionne au besoin. En outre, le flash

escamotable aide à minimiser l’effet des

yeux rouges sur les photos prises avec le

flash, et les risques d’obstruer l’objectif.

1. Placez l’INTERRUPTEUR MARCHE/

ARRÊT (20) en position «MARCHE» pour

mettre l’appareil-photo sous tension et

soulever le FLASH (9).

• Le TÉMOIN DE L’APPAREIL-PHOTO/

d’appoint, flash désactivé, mise au point

à l’infini et vue nocturne.

Une fois la photo prise, les modes flash

demeureront actifs. Pour modifier le

mode flash, il suffit d’appuyer sur le

bouton de sélection du mode, ou de

fermer puis rouvrir l’appareil-photo pour

réinitialiser le flash au mode par défaut.

Réduction des

yeux rouges

Les yeux de certaines personnes (et de

certains animaux) peuvent réfléchir le flash

et ainsi produire un éclat rouge sur les

photos. Cet appareil-photo est doté d’un

flash automatique avec option de réduction

des yeux rouges par défaut. Grâce au flash

escamotable et en suivant les directives ci-

dessous, vous pouvez minimiser le

phénomène des yeux rouges dans les

photos prises avec flash ou flash d’appoint.

1. Glissez l’INTERRUPTEUR MARCHE/

ARRÊT (20) en position «MARCHE» pour

mettre l’appareil-photo sous tension et

soulever le FLASH (9).

2. Appuyez sur le BOUTON DE SÉLECTION DU

RÉDUCTION

5. Enfoncez alors partiellement le

Flash automatique sans

réduction des yeux rouges

Utilisez ce mode pour prendre des photos

sans personnages.

Vous pouvez changer le réglage par défaut

à flash automatique sans réduction des

yeux rouges de la façon suivante :

sans réduction des yeux rouges.

Flash d’appoint

À l’intérieur ou à l’extérieur, la lumière vive

projetée sur des sujets éclairés à contre-

jour peut créer des ombres marquées (en

particulier sur les visages). Pour adoucir

ces ombres, il suffit d’utiliser le flash

d’appoint.

1. Placez l’INTERRUPTEUR MARCHE/

ARRÊT (20) en position «MARCHE» pour

mettre l’appareil-photo sous tension et

soulever le FLASH (9).

2. Appuyez à plusieurs reprises sur le

Flash désactivé

Lorsque vous ne voulez pas utiliser le

flash, notamment à l’intérieur dans les

endroits où on l’interdit (comme les

musées et les théâtres), pour

photographier des scènes au crépuscule

ou des sujets éloignés situés au-delà de

la portée du flash, ou encore pour saisir

l’atmosphère créée par la l lumière

ambiante, utilisez la fonction de flash

désactivé. Servez-vous d’un trépied

ou placez l’appareil sur une surface

stable, et utilisez un film de sensibilité

élevée parce que la vitesse d’obturation

sera vraisemblablement plus lente la nuit.

Vue nocturne

Avec ce mode, l’appareil-photo est en

mesure d’équilibrer l’intensité du flash en

fonction de l’éclairage existant pour vous

permettre de prendre de superbes photos

de gens au coucher du soleil ou en

soirée. Servez-vous d’un trépied ou

placez l’appareil sur une surface stable,

et utilisez un film de sensibilité élevée

parce que la vitesse d’obturation sera

vraisemblablement plus lente la nuit.

1. Placez l’INTERRUPTEUR MARCHE/

ARRÊT (20) en position «MARCHE» pour

mettre l’appareil-photo sous tension et

soulever le FLASH (9).

2. Appuyez sur le BOUTON DE SÉLECTION

Utilisez ce mode si vous souhaitez vous

inclure dans la photo.

1. Utilisez l’ECROU DU TRÉPIED (25) pour

fixer l’appareil-photo sur un trépied ou

placez-le sur une surface stable.

2. Placez l’INTERRUPTEUR MARCHE/

ARRÊT (20) en position «MARCHE» pour

mettre l’appareil-photo sous tension et

soulever le FLASH (9).

3. Appuyez sur le BOUTON DU

RETARDATEUR

(6).

4. Cadrez bien votre sujet dans

l’OCULAIRE DU VISEUR (19).

4. Enfoncez partiellement le

DÉCLENCHEUR (16). Lorsque le TÉMOIN

IMPRESSION DE LA DATE ET

DE L’HEURE

Les appareils-photo traditionnels

impriment la date et l’heure de la photo

directement sur le film. Votre appareil

utilise plutôt la bande magnétique du

film pour y enregistrer les données de

date et heure, que votre laboratoire

pourra imprimer plus tard au dos de vos

photos. Cet appareil possède une

horloge à quartz et un calendrier

automatique allant jusqu’en l’an 2099.

Vous pouvez inscrire la date, sous

trois formats différents (année/mois/

jour, jour/mois/année ou mois/jour/

année), et l’heure (heure/minutes).

Réglage de la date et de l’heure

1. Appuyez sur le BOUTON DE

SÉLECTION

(2) de façon successive

pour choisir le format de date souhaité.

2. Appuyez de

nouveau sur

le bouton de

sélection et

maintenez-le

pendant

environ

2 secondes,

jusqu’à ce que les premiers chiffres de

la date ou de l’heure clignotent.

3. Appuyez sur le BOUTON DE SAISIE (3)

pour changer les chiffres qui

«clignotent».

4. Puis, appuyez sur le bouton de

sélection pour enregistrer votre choix

et activer la prochaine partie de la date

ou de l’heure (clignotante); répétez les

étapes 3 et 4 pour achever votre

sélection.

RETRAIT DU FILM

Rembobinage automatique

L’appareil-photo rembobinera

automatiquement le film dans la cassette

une fois la dernière photo prise.

1. Attendez que le film soit complètement

rembobiné dans la cassette.

• Lorsque le moteur s’arrête, le

2. Soulevez le LOQUET DU COMPARTIMENT

FILM (21).

• Le moteur tournera quelques

instants, puis le couvercle s’ouvrira.

3. Retirez la cassette de film de

• L’indicateur de l’état du film d’une

cassette de film entièrement exposé

sera vis-à-vis ✖ (position 3); un

«E» s’affichera en outre sur le

panneau ACL.

les photos du rouleau de film, vous

pouvez activer de façon manuelle le

dispositif de rembobinage automatique.

1. Appuyez délicatement sur le BOUTON

d’un objet pointu pour activer le

dispositif de rembobinage automatique.

ENTRETIEN DE VOTRE

APPAREIL-PHOTO

1. Préservez votre appareil-photo de la

poussière, de l’humidité, des chocs et

de la chaleur excessive.

ATTENTION : N’utilisez pas de

solvants ou de produits rugueux ou

abrasifs pour nettoyer le boîtier de

l’appareil-photo.

2. Si l’objectif est sale, placez-le devant

votre bouche, puis expirez légèrement

pour former un léger brouillard;

nettoyez ensuite à l’aide d’un linge

doux, sans charpie, ou d’un tissu

nettoyant pour objectif. N’essuyez

jamais un objectif à sec.

ATTENTION : N’utilisez pas de

solvants ou de produits qui ne sont

pas spécialement conçus pour

nettoyer les objectifs d’appareil-photo.

N’utilisez pas non plus de tissus traités

chimiquement et destinés au

nettoyage des verres.

3. Retirez les piles lorsque vous

entreposez l’appareil-photo pour une

longue période.

Como usar el cerrojo de enfoque

Esta cámara se enfoca automáticamente en

• Acérquese lo suficiente al sujeto a

todo el visor, pero no más cerca de

• Tome fotografías al nivel del sujeto.

Arrodíllese para fotografiar niños y

animales.

• Haga tomas verticales de sujetos altos

y angostos, como cascadas,

rascacielos o una persona sola.

• Agregue interés a sus fotografías

CON FLASH

A poca luz, ya sea en interiores, en

exteriores donde hay mucha sombra o

en días oscuros o nublados, necesitará

usar el flash. Su cámara incluye un flash

automático el cual se dispara cuando es

necesario. El flash que se levanta

automáticamente también ayuda a

reducir al mínimo los ojos rojos en

fotografías con flash y prevenir que el

lente sea obstruido por su mano.

1. Para encender la cámara y levantar el

Reducción de ojos rojos

Los ojos de algunas personas (y algunos

animales) se pueden reflejar en la

fotografía, cuando se usa el flash, como

un brillo rojo. Esta cámara tiene

inicialmente fijada la característica de un

flash automático con reducción de ojos

rojos. Con la ayuda del flash que se levanta

automáticamente y siguiendo las

instrucciones que aquí se indican, usted

puede reducir al mínimo los ojos rojos en

fotografías con flash o con flash de relleno.

1. Para encender la cámara y levantar el

FLASH (9), deslice el INTERRUPTOR DE

ENCENDER

/APAGAR (20) a la posición

ENCENDER.

2. Oprima repetidamente el BOTÓN DE

MODO

DE FLASH (7) hasta que el

INDICADOR DE REDUCCIÓN DE OJOS

• Omita este paso si al encender la

cámara el modo de reducción de ojos

rojos ya está seleccionado.

3. Encuadre su sujeto dentro del OCULAR

4. Haga que sujeto mire directamente a la

5. Oprima parcialmente el BOTÓN DEL

Flash automático sin reducción

de ojos rojos

Use este modo para tomar fotografías

que no incluyan a personas.

Usted puede cambiar el modo a flash

automático sin reducción de ojos rojos

siguiendo las instrucciones que aquí se

indican:

1. Para encender la cámara y levantar el

Flash de relleno

En escenas interiores o exteriores de

mucho contraste, sombras

(especialmente en las caras) pueden ser

causadas cuando los sujetos tienen

como iluminación de fondo una luz

brillante (contraluz). Use el flash de

relleno para aclarar estas sombras.

1. Para encender la cámara y levantar el

FLASH (9), deslice el INTERRUPTOR DE

ENCENDER

/APAGAR (20) a la posición

ENCENDER.

2. Oprima repetidamente el BOTÓN DE

MODO

DE FLASH (7) hasta que el

Flash apagado

Cuando no quiera usar el flash,

especialmente en interiores donde el uso

del flash está prohibido, come en teatros

y museos, o cuando quiera fotografiar

escenas en penumbras, o sujetos que se

encuentran fuera del alcance del flash, o

capturar el ambiente con la luz existente,

use la función de flash apagado. Use un

tripié o coloque la cámara sobre otra

base firme, y use película de alta

sensibilidad de ISO porque la mayor

probabilidad es que, por la noche, la

abertura del diafragma será lenta.

1. Para encender la cámara y levantar el

FLASH (9), deslice el INTERRUPTOR DE

ENCENDER

/APAGAR (20) a la posición

ENCENDER.

2. Oprima repetidamente el BOTÓN DE

Enfoque infinito

La LÁMPARA DE DISPARADOR

AUTOMÁTICO

(13) en el frente de la

cámara parpadeará y entonces brillará

durante los dos últimos segundos de la

cuenta regresiva.

• Para cancelar el modo de disparador

automático antes de tomar la

fotografía, apague la cámara.

Vista de noche

Para que usted pueda tomar fotografías

bellas de personas a la puesta del sol o

por la noche, en este modo la cámara

crea un balance entre el flash y la luz

presente. Use un tripié o coloque la

cámara sobre otra base firme y use

película de alta sensibilidad de ISO

porque la mayor probabilidad es que,

por la noche, la abertura del diafragma

será lenta.

1. Para encender la cámara y levantar el

COMO IMPRIMIR LA FECHA

Y HORA

Las cámaras tradicionales imprimen la

información de la fecha y/u hora

directamente en la película. Su cámara

usa la característica de la franja

magnética en la película para registrar la

información de fecha y hora, la cual su

fotoprocesador puede imprimir en la

parte de atrás de sus fotografías. Esta

cámara tiene un reloj de cuarzo y un

calendario automático hasta el año 2099.

Usted puede registrar la fecha en tres

formatos distintos: (año/mes/día,

mes/día/año, o día/mes/año) y un formato

para la hora (hora/minuto).

• Después que tome la fotografía, el

disparador automático se cancela

automáticamente y regresa al modo

inicial de flash automático.

Como fijar la fecha y hora

1. Oprima repetidamente el BOTÓN DE

SELECCIÓN

(2) para ver la lista y

seleccionar el formato deseado para la

impresión de la fecha.

2. Oprima nuevamente y mantenga

oprimido el botón de selección por

aproximadamente 2 segundos hasta

que el/los

primer(os)

número(s)

en la

posición de

fecha/hora

“parpadeen”.

3. Oprima el

BOTÓN DE ENTRADA (3) para cambiar

el/los número(s) “parpadeante(s)”.

4. Oprima el botón de selección para

guardar el/los número(s)

seleccionado(s) y para activar el/los

próximo(s) número(s) “parpadeante(s)”

(vuelva a usar los pasos 3 y 4 hasta

completar su selección).

COMO DESCARGAR LA PELÍCULA

Rebobinado automático

Esta cámara automáticamente rebobina

la película una vez que se haya tomado

la última fotografía.

1. Espere a que la película se rebobine

completamente dentro del cartucho.

• Cuando el motor se detenga, el

CONTADOR DE CUADROS (30)

indicará “0”.

2. Deslice hacia arriba el INTERRUPTOR

DEL

COMPARTIMIENTO DE PELÍCULA (21).

• El motor trabajará por unos breves

momentos y entonces la puerta del

compartimiento de película se abrirá.

3. Retire el cartucho de película de la

cámara y vuelva a cargarla con un rollo

nuevo de película KODAK ADVANTIX.

• El FSI en el cartucho de película

completamente expuesto estará en

6 (posición #3) y el panel LCD

demostrará “E”.

Rebobinado manual

Si no desea tomar el rollo completo de

fotografías, usted puede manualmente

activar el proceso de rebobinado

automático.

1. Para comenzar el rebobinado

automático de la película oprima

cuidadosamente el BOTÓN DE

REBOBINADO

DE PELÍCULA (4) usando un

objeto puntiagudo.

2. Siga los pasos 1–3 del Rebobinado

automático.

NOTA: Para la toma continua de

fotografías, no puede volver a cargar

película parcialmente expuesta en esta

cámara.

CUIDADO DE LA CÁMARA

1. Proteja la cámara del polvo, humedad,

golpe repentino, y calor excesivo.

PRECAUCIÓN: No use solventes o

soluciones ásperas o abrasivas en el

cuerpo de la cámara.

2. Si el lente se ve sucio, cúbralo con su

aliento para empañarlo y limpie la

superficie cuidadosamente con un

paño suave que no tenga pelusas o

con un pañuelo especialmente

diseñado para la limpieza de lentes.

Nunca limpie el lente en seco.

PRECAUCIÓN: No use solventes o

soluciones que no hayan sido

diseñadas para la limpieza de lentes

de cámaras. No use pañuelos con

químicos diseñados para la limpieza

de gafas.

3. Remueva la batería cuando vaya a

guardar la cámara por un largo

período.

PRECAUCIÓN: Para prevenir la

posibilidad de daño y choque eléctrico,

no trate, usted mismo, de desarmar o

reparar la cámara o la unidad del flash.
