Form the DNA into a flexible double helix:

1. Cut off a section of the purple tubing that is 20 1/2 inches (52 cm) long. (Note:
You will need a pair of sharp scissors to cut the tubing. The scissors should
be used with caution. Keep the remaining piece of tubing for the large double
helix on page 14.) Attach the red cap and purple plug to one end of the tubing.

and orange middle connectors. Be sure to
twist the DNA strand counter-clockwise as
you push it down over the purple tubing (as
shown).
