Problem Possible Cause Prevention / Solution
Flames blow out. High or gusting winds. Turn the front of the grill to
face wind or increase ame
height.
Low on LP gas. Replace the gas cylinder or
have it relled by your LP gas
dealer.
Excess ow valve
tripped.
Refer to “Sudden drop in gas
ow” (above).
Persistent grease re. Grease trapped by food
buildup around burner
system.
Turn knobs to “OFF”. Turn gas
off at gas cylinder. Leave lid in
position and let re burn out.
After grill cools, remove and
clean all parts.
Flashback –
re in burner tube(s).
Burner and burner tubes
are blocked.
Turn knobs to “OFF”. Clean
burner and/or burner
tubes (see “Cleaning and
Maintenance” section).
Flare-up Grease buildup. Clean burners and inside of
grill/rebox.
Excessive fat in meat. Trim fat from meat before
grilling.
Excessive cooking
temperature.
Turn the knobs anticlockwise
to a lower setting.
Unable to ll gas
cylinder.
Some dealers have
older ll nozzles with
worn threads.
Turn worn nozzles do not
have enough “bite” to engage
the valve. Try a second LP gas
dealer.
One burner does
not light from other
burner(s).
Grease buildup or
food particles in end of
carryover tube.
Clean carry-over tube with
wire brush.
