To avoid hazards from spilling hot food, do not use defor-
med or unstable cookware and make sure that handles do
not protrude over the edge of the worktop.
Pay attention to magnetisable metal objects worn on
the body, as they may become hot near the hob during
use. Gold and silver jewellery are not affected.
Do not place metal objects such as cutlery or lids
on the hob as they may heat up due to induction.
Fire hazard
The hob becomes very hot during operation.
Strictly observe the safety distances and instructions
given in this manual.
Never leave the hob unattended when in use! Food can
boil over, burn, cause harmful smoke or catch fire.
Heated food containing fat, oil or alcohol in particular
can ignite quickly. Therefore, heat them as slowly as
possible.
In case of fire, cut off the gas and electricity supply and
carefully smother the flames with a lid, fire blanket or
similar.
Never extinguish burning oil or grease with water. After
extinguishing, have the appliance checked by a suitably
qualified professional.
Do not heat sealed containers or tins on the hob.
These can explode due to the overpressure created dur-
ing heating.
Do not place any objects on the hob that are not fire-
proof, such as plastic utensils, and do not cover it with
textiles, for example, for protection.
These may catch fire, melt, become deformed or dam-
aged when the hob is switched on or in operation.
Also keep appliances and their cables at a safe distance
from the hob.
To avoid associated hazards, never leave the cooking
zones or the hob on when you are not using them.
To do this, use the on/off button and do not rely on the
automatic deactivation when cookware is not detected.
Food residues, grease and other residues can catch fire,
burn in or cause harmful smoke.
Before each use, remove coarse soiling from the cooking
surface and accessories.
Do not store highly flammable or explosive materials
near the hob to avoid fire hazard due to increased ambi-
ent temperature during operation.
