De viscositeit (vloeibaarheid) van de

motorolie is van invloed op het

brandstofverbruik en op de werking

onder koude weersomstandigheden

(starten en oliecirculatie). Motoroliën

met een lagere viscositeit geven een

lager brandstofverbruik en betere

prestaties onder koude weersom-

standigheden, terwijl motoroliën met

een hogere viscositeit echter wense-

lijk zijn voor een goede smering bij

warme buitentemperaturen. Het

gebruik van oliën met een andere

dan de aanbevolen viscositeit kan

resulteren in motorschade.

Houd bij de keuze van een olie reke-

ning met de te verwachten buiten-

temperaturen tot aan de volgende

olieverversing. Kies dan aan de hand

van de tabel de aanbevolen olievis-

cositeit.

1. Voor een gunstiger brandstofverbruik is het aan te raden om motorolie met viscositeit SAE

5W-20, 5W-30 (API SJ, SL/ILSAC GF-3) te gebruiken. Als deze motorolie echter niet in uw

land verkrijgbaar is, kies dan een geschikte motorolie aan de hand van de viscositeitstabel.

2. Alleen voor gebieden met extreem lage buitentemperaturen en afhankelijk van de rijomstan-

digheden. (Speciaal af te raden bij langdurig rijden met zware belading en/of hoge snelheid.)
