6. OPERATING
When all points mentioned above have been followed, cleaning can begin.
Thereby allways care for enough water by turning the water supply fully open.
Now do turn on the machine by pressing the black motor safety switch. By
squeezing the pistol of the spouting gun, the machine will start functioning.
Waterpressure then depends on the pressure set at the pressure regulator to a
maximum of 170 bar for KD 900-170 and 200 bar for KD 1000-200. When you
press the red switch the machine will stop.
When the pistol is let loose, the water will no longer come out of the spoutinggun,
while the machine keeps on functioning.
Never let the machine function for longer than 2 minutes
when no water is needed.
The water in the machine then becomes too hot because of friction and this can
cause severe damage to the pump.
The machine has the possibility to work with warm water. The watertemperature
however may never exceed 50
o
C. In this case the cleaner should function less
than 2 minutes without using water. When warm water has been used, the
machine should be flushed with cold water for several minutes afterwards until the
warm water has disappeared.
Adding detergent to the machine is done by the detergentinjector on the machine
and the adjustable nozzle at the end of the spouting gun.
- Hang the detergent hose in the detergenttank or in a separate tank.
- Lower the pressure by turning the adjustable nozzle in front of the spouting
gun. The amount of detergent can be regulated by turning the nozzle: more
open (lower pressure) is more detergent, more close (higher pressure) is less
detergent (for the KD 1000-200 also open the dosaging cock on the machine).
- If you stop cleaning, flush the machine for a while with clean, cold water until all
detergent has disappeared.
The strong waterbeam of the KD 900-170 / KD 1000-200 can clean many objects.
The high pressure cleaner is suitable for cleaning for instance cars, machines,
motorbikes, cicles, boats, caravans, terasses, frontages, etcetera. Some surfaces
however need special treatment. Therefore the following tip offs.
- Special dirt needs special detergents: Greasy surfaces are best cleaned by hot
water and degreasing detergents. The KD 900-170 / KD 1000-200 has the
abillity to use warm water from for instance a boiler. The maximum temperature
of the water should not be over 50
o
C.
For normal dirt best use a regular cleansing agent, for severe dirt better use an
alkaline degreaser. Read the instructions of the manufacturer thorrowly! To
remove road-dust from cars, use a special car shampoo.
- Remember that some detergents are rather agressive. Therefore, read the
instructions on the label of the detergent. Protect yourself with suitable clothing
