Changing from string reel to trimmer knife is done in re-
verse order.
Extending the string length during operation
The string on the device wears during mowing and be-
comes shorter due to fraying and being torn off. A string
that is too short will result in unsatisfactory mowing re-
sults.
Note
The string length can be extended during operation.
1. With the appliance switched on, briefly tap the cut-
ting head on the ground.
The string extends automatically and is automatical-
ly trimmed to the correct length by the cutting blade.
Note
You must replace the string reel or cutting string if the
string no longer extends automatically (see Chapter
Replacing the cutting tool).
Removing the battery pack
Note
During longer work breaks, remove the battery pack
from the device and secure it against unauthorised use.
1. Pull the battery pack unlocking button in the direc-
tion of the battery pack.

2. Press the battery pack unlocking button to unlock
the battery pack.
3. Remove the battery pack from the device.
Ending operation
1. Remove the battery pack from the device (see
Chapter Removing the battery pack).
2. Clean the device (see Chapter Cleaning the de-
vice).

and foreign bodies regularly.

1. Insert a tool (e.g. screwdriver) through the recess on
the side to prevent the cutting tool from rotating.
2. Unscrew the nut.

3. Remove the trimmer knife cover.
4. Remove the sprocket.

5. Remove and dispose of the trimmer knife properly.
6. Mount the new trimmer knife in reverse order.
Replacing the cutting string
1. Position the rotary knob of the string reel so that the
marks on the rotary knob and string reel cover
match.

2. Remove remnants of string if necessary.
3. Pull the new cutting string through the eyelets until
the cutting string on both sides of the string reel is
the same length.
4. Press the rotary knob of the string reel and turn it
clockwise.
