Do not use any other charger – only charge your battery using one of the
chargers listed here!
If a fault occurs or the battery has switched to sleep mode, it can be helpful to
place the battery in the charger for a minute.
The battery management system then checks the battery and can rectify faults.
Misoperation can lead to damage to the device or injuries!
Always unplug the charger from the mains socket before cleaning it! There
is otherwise the danger of an electric shock and injury!
Use the charger in dry rooms only.
Place the charger only in a safe, stable position on a suitable surface.
Do not cover the charger or place items on top of it. Danger of overheating
or fire!
7. Troubleshooting
So that you can recognise quickly and simply
if there is a problem or a technical defect, the
control unit will show you if something is wrong.
In this case, the LEDs blink in a certain pattern
and rhythm that show you what the cause of
the problem is and how to rectify it.
Problems/solutions: Blinking patterns and their meaning
1. Both LED trios blink alternately every two seconds:
Fault: no motor assistance. Reason: the force sensor could not adjust itself.
Solution: Press the ‘Power’ button twice to perform a restart. The system carries out
the force sensor adjustment twice; during that time no force may be exerted on the
pedals for about 2 seconds.
2. Both LED trios blink in the following pattern:
Fault: no motor assistance. Reason: the motor is defective.
Solution: the motor must be repaired or replaced. Please contact your dealer
regarding this.
3. One of the three ‘Mode’ LEDs repeatedly blinks twice briefly:
Fault: the motor is switching off. Reason: the motor is overloaded.
Solution: let the motor cool down and reduce the assistance by one level using the
‘Mode’ button.
4. One of the three ‘Mode’ LEDs blinks rapidly:
Fault: the motor is switching off. Reason: the motor is heavily overloaded.
Solution: let the motor cool down and reduce the assistance level using the
‘Mode’ button.
5. The lower ‘Power’ LED blinks rapidly:
Fault: no motor assistance. Reason: the battery is almost flat.
Solution: recharge the battery without delay.
Other possible causes of faults:
No motor assistance will be applied if your pedalling force is too small!
