Using AirPlay/DLNA
There are 2 ways to connect the System to an
AirPlay/DLNA device: Via a wireless LAN router,
or directly (direct wireless connection).
• We recommend using a wireless LAN router
when possible.
• The System cannot be used as a wireless LAN
router. When connecting an AirPlay/DLNA
device to the internet, use a wireless LAN
router.
CAUTION
• Noise may be generated if the System is
placed near a wireless LAN devic
e or a
microwave. The connection may also become
slow and connection errors may occur. If any
of the above occur, move the System away
from the wireless LAN device or microwave.
• We cannot guarantee that this function
will operate correctly with all AirPlay/DLNA
compatible devices, applications, and
wireless LAN routers.
About AirPlay
Music from Mac and Windows computers,
iPod touch, iPhone and iPad can be played
wirelessly on the System using Apple AirPlay
technology.
• iTunes version 10.2 or later (Mac/Windows
computers) is required to use AirPlay.
• See page 23 for a list of compatible iPod/
iPhone/iPad.
About DLNA
Music from computers and mobile devices
can be played wirelessly on the System using
DLNA technology.
The following are required to use DLNA
• A mobile device compatible with DLNA
–
See the manual for your device.
• A DLNA application with a server function
(DMS)
– See installed applications for information
on DMS compatibility.
• Windows Media Player 12
(Windows 7/Windows 8)
– DLNA cannot be used with Windows Media
Player 11 or earlier versions.
• DLNA version 1.5
NOTE
• It may not be possible to connect or play
music, depending on the DLNA application.
In this case, try another application.
• DRM files cannot be played.
• Audio from video software cannot be
streamed from DLNA devices.
