in step 3, rotate the manual focus dial to select
the desired value, and press SET. You can set
the aperture value (F-number) manually. The
larger the aperture value (lower F-number), the
more blurred the background will become. The
smaller the aperture value (higher F-number),
the clearer the focus will be both near and far
object.
You can select the F-number from F1.8*/F1.9**/
F2.0/F2.8/F4.0/F5.6/F8.0*.
* Not available when the VIDEO/MEMORY switch
is set to “MEMORY”.
** Not available when the VIDEO/MEMORY switch

too dark, set to the smaller.
S PRIORITY (1/50 – 1/4000):
After selecting “S PRIORITY” (Shutter Priority)
in step 3, rotate the manual focus dial to select
the desired value, and press SET. You can set
the shutter speed manually.
1/50: The shutter speed is fixed at 1/50 second.
Black bands that usually appear when shooting
a TV screen become narrower.

second. The flickering that occurs when
shooting under a fluorescent light or mercury-
vapor lamp is reduced.
1/250, 1/500, 1/1000*, 1/2000*, 1/4000*: Fast
shutter speed allows fast-moving subject to be
captured one frame at a time vividly. Use these
settings when an automatic adjustment does not
work well by SPORTS mode

is set to “VIDEO”.
To turn off the program AE
Select “OFF” in step 3. The program AE
indicator disappears.

streak may appear (smear phenomenon). Smear
phenomenon tends to occur when “SPORTS” is
selected.
Some modes of program AE cannot be used with
certain wipe/fader effects ( pg. 44). In this case,
the selected indicator blinks or goes out.

images.

CLASSIC FILM*: Gives recorded scenes a
strobe effect.
MONOTONE: Like classic black and white
films, your footage is shot in B/W. Used together
with the cinema mode ( pg. 35, “WIDE
MODE”), it enhances the “classic film” effect.
SEPIA: Recorded scenes have a brownish
tint like old photos. Combine this with the cinema
mode ( pg. 35, “WIDE MODE”) for a classic
look.
STROBE*: Your recording looks like a
series of consecutive snapshots.
* Available only when the VIDEO/MEMORY switch
is set to “VIDEO”.
To turn off the special effect
