Nejmodernější forma měření času.

Už5000 let uplynulo od začátku měření času prostřednictvím sluneč-

ních tyčí přes vodní hodiny, mechanické hodiny 13. století, křemenné

hodiny až po rádiově řízené náramkové hodinky Junghans. Hodinky,

které za dobrých podmínek pro příjem signálu nikdy nejdou špatně, a

nikdy je není třeba nastavovat. Rádiově řízené hodinky Junghans jsou

absolutně přesné, protože jsou rádiově spojeny s časovým normálem

nejpřesnějších hodin na světě. Pro Evropu je to časová základna na bázi

cesia ve Physikalisch-Technischen Bundesanstalt v Braunschweigu

(PTB). Pro Japonsko je to časová základna na bázi cesia národního insti-

tutu pro informační a komunikační technologie (NICT), společnost

správního úřadu. Pro Severní Ameriku je to časová základna na bázi

cesia U. S. Department of Commerce, spadající pod National Institute

of Standards and Technology (NIST) v Boulderu v Coloradu. Tyto hodiny

jsou tak přesné, že odchylka 1 sekunda se dá očekávat až po 1 milionu

let.
